I remember television arriving in Calgary about 1953 and my Grandfather getting one of the first sets.
I remember his screen was 21 inches, which was a lot bigger than this 2½ inch screen made only 15 years before.

 
 
  
Do you remember when the first portable television sets were made?

I was surprised to find this 7 inch portable television was made in about 1945.

Match Holder for Kitchen Matches

It is a holder for boxes of large wooden kitchen matches. Modern kitchen matches are a little smaller and come in smaller boxes so they do not fit as well as the old ones.
