Do you remember when 7-UP bottles had bubble dancers on them?

I seem to remember that they got rid of the dancing ladies about 1954, but I also seem to remember that the bubbles disappeared even before that.

do you remember when cameras folded up?

When film came in rolls with paper backing?
When the rolls had numbers like 127, 120, 620, and 616?
When you had to look at the numbers through a little red window in the back of the camera as you wound the film?

My dad had a camera like the right hand one in 1955.  I have it still.

do you remember scrubbing clothes on a washboard?

Do you remember lye soap?  And bashing your knuckles on the washboard?

I remember trying to play the washboard.  The music world celebrated the day I gave it up.

do you remember when washing machines were made out of copper?

Do you remember getting things caught in the wringer?
Looks like this old beast didn't even have a wringer.
And still they named it EASY.

Do you remember toasters that turned over the toast when you opened the doors?

Do you remember the great toast they made?
Now I have a shiny new pop up toaster.
It can't tell white from black.
I still have to turn the toast over at half time if I want it evenly browned.
And I still have to take out the toast when it is done, or the toaster will burn it to charcoal.
This is called progress.
