Freedom of religion and freedom from religion:
It is evident that the freedom of religion and the freedom from religion exists
best in a secular, democratic society. The ideas such as the ones
presented on this page and the linked pages are allowed in secular,
democratic societies such as Australia, Canada, India, Japan, South Korea,
New Zealand, United States, Western Europe. It would be banned in
Despotic countries.
It is the duty of the secular countries mentioned to promote the freedom of
individuals to hold their own belief system in all countries. One way is to
promote the secular, democratic kind of society, which allows this freedom,
in all countries. Our government and corporations should apply political and
economic pressures on countries like the Sudan, China, Iran, Saudi Arabia,
Indonesia, Nigeria, North Korea, Laos, Ethiopia, Russia, Burma
that are repressing, torturing, and in some cases slaughtering Jews, Secularists,
Atheists, Christians, both Catholic and Protestant, and other minorities from
peacefully practicing their religions or practicing no religion. In the long run,
protecting people of minority belief systems would prove beneficial to
freedom of religion and freedom from religion for everyone.
