Venezuela – January 2007
I went on a two-week tour with Explore Worldwide (although actually run by Natura Raid) in Venezuela around the Paria Peninsula and Mochima N.P. in Eastern Venezuela.
Brief outline of the trip was
* Fly Vancouver - Dallas - Miami (overnight) - Caracas (supposed to fly direct from Dallas to Caracas but missed the connection)
* One night in Macuto close to Caracas airport (having first gone into Cararcas because Explore gave me the wrong details for the joining hotel)
* Fly to Barcelona and then by minibus to Rio Caribe
* Minibus to Guiria and the boat to Macuro
* Hike to Don Pedro and then boat to Uquire
* Boat to Santa Isabel
* Hike to La Noria Waterfall and then boat to Querepare for two nights, with a visit to a Playa Medina
* Minibus to Cumana
* Minibus and boat to Araya Peninsula
* Boat to Manare in Mochima N.P. for 2 nights - good snorkelling within the park
* Boat to Santa Fe and then minibus to Los Altos
* Minibus to Puerto de la Cruz and then onto Caracas
* One night in Caracas and one night near Caracas airport and then home via Dallas
