Teachers are finding that when calculators are always used by students, the
students seem to miss out on many of the patterns in math, and they also
forget multiplication facts and other skills.
It can be as simple as using a multiplication table to teach Factoring
Trinomials - students can find the numbers in a chart much
more quickly than randomly dividing, say 72 by 3, then 4, and so on, on
their calculator!
