Hello everyone! Welcome
to my new page on
Assessment
If you are looking for information on
Curriculum and Implementation, see my page at:
http://members.shaw.ca/teacherweb/irps_and_implementation.htm

I am always excited to learn more about assessment and to help
students become more responsible for and involved in their learning.
Hey Lorraine:
How do I get started in the Math Classroom with
Assessment for Learning? >>Click to see my
newsletter.
Resources:
Rick Stiggins
is an assessment guru! A GREAT resource is the
Free DVD that you can request on
this site - it's great!
"New Mission, New Beliefs: Assessment for Learning". ...a
terrific way to begin the conversation.
Anne Davies
is a local assessment guru! She has many GREAT resources
on her site.
A great general resource is:
 | Making Classroom Assessment Work
and her comprehensive lesson
plan and black-line masters for how to use this book with others for
Professional Development - there is one ProD document for this book
|
If you are in a Middle or Secondary School,
you can begin with:

A great FREE
current resource called Rethinking
Classroom Assessment with Purpose in Mind is a 2006 document produced
by the WNCP that addresses the Assessment OF, AS, and FOR learning.
It is 112 pages long! so it takes a while to download.... but it
looks like it's intended to help us implement in our districts/schools... If you
want to just look at the Table of Contents, you can find it
here - it
takes a little less time to download :)

SD23
are now members of the Alberta Assessment
Consortium. They have developed a number of excellent resources that
are available to order using the order form on
this page. If you are an
SD23 teacher or administrator, you can have access as a member. Please
contact Barb Bertram at bbertram@sd23.bc.ca

Do you want to work together with other teachers in your school to create tests?
A few years ago, some of our department members at Mount Boucherie Secondary
got together to create common tests of a specific format - We try to create
consistent and fair tests that cover all aspects of the curriculum. That year, we chose
to focus on PMa10. Would you like to see the:
 | Details of the structure of the test, and the |
 | Template we use to create them. |
We are happy to share :)
