For some reason, I felt really, really nervous on the way up to Olds. I think it must've been just too long since I last rode. I got on this little guy, but I lost my feet and got bucked off pretty quick. I hit the ground pretty hard and got winded. I got back to the chutes and stopped to catch my breath. I was standing around for a bit and thought I could get on another, but then I started to walk and realized the fall did more than just make me winded. I had hurt my back a little on the hard landing.
I felt a little bit better on the drive up to Olds, but I was still pretty nervous for some reason. The bull I got one was just a little fella and I felt that I had a good hold with my feet for the first couple of jumps, but I lost them again and got bucked off. My back hurt a bit again on the landed to I got some ice on it right away.
This time I felt much better on the drive up. I picked out a little guy to ride figuring that it's time I covered something. I got my rope on him without any trouble and put my foot on his back to get an idea of how he'd be when I went to get down on him. He hardly moved at all. Well, that little jerk!! As soon as I started to get down on him he moved this way and that way and I had a heck of a time getting my rope set. Got my knees and shins banged around a bit giving me a couple more bruises. Although I didn't do any good outside of the chute, I feel it was a mental victory, because all the crap in the chutes never really got to me.
For those of you familiar with the Canadian country music scene, Julian Austin (out of New Brunswick) was up riding bulls with us that night. I talked to him for a bit (he's seems like a good guy) and he got on his fourth bull that night. He told me that he's written a rodeo song and considered giving it to someone else, but he may hang on to it. Watch for it! It should be good.
They had a little jackpot in addition to the regular practice this night. I entered just the jackpot remaining positive that I had a shot. I ended up riding a bull that my buddy Jason VanDerWal had just a little bit before. He didn't really buck all the hard, but I ended up back on my butt and coming off of my rope. This is getting really frustrating, I've hardly ridden anything since the August long weekend. The first half of the regular season was coming along really nice. What's going wrong?
Kelly Armstrong put on a small bull riding school up at the Old College Arena. He only had fifteen guys and brought in some proven stock. They had a good range of bulls for everyone.
Friday night I got on two bulls. The first one, I got a little over-eager and bent over too much over the bulls head and ended up having my feet come up behind me. I landed on my back with my feet straight up in the air. I was scared bad, because I knew the bull was right there and I felt like a turtle on his back. I managed to get away clean, but my buddy told me afterwards that he thought I was going to get a shot in the head. My second bull was a small little red bull with a black face. I got on him and rode him for the eight seconds. Finally, I had a ride that went right. I got a good hold with my feet for the whole ride, but I didn't tuck my chin and the weight of my head brought be back, but pulled myself back in and stayed with him.
On Saturday, I got on three bulls. The first one was the small black-faced red bull I got on the night before. This time however, believing that I really could ride this guy, I must have gotten over-confident and got bucked off right away. I don't really remember what went wrong. The second one was another little bull that Kelly said "Tim, here's a good one for you, I little rank in the chutes, but a clean jump and kicker". Well, I guess I been on enough chute-fighting cows, cause once I sat down on this guy, he made little fuss that bothered me. I rode him for the eight seconds too!! I was feeling really good. I had a really good hold with my spurs right where I wanted them and had my right leg pop out, but I put it right back in. The third one I got one went straight for the fence and although I know that I shouldn't have done it, my instincts had me look at the fence. Guess where I went when he rubbed me up against the fence. Into the dirt. I was ticked off after I realized what I had done wrong, but by the time I got back to the chutes, I thought to myself, "I was doing great, but I just made one mistake of looking at the fence. Next time tuck that chin and keep it there!!"
On Sunday, I got on two bulls. My first bull was a Hereford bull that Kelly told went out and spun. I got on and was doing good outside of the chute. When he turned around and started to spin I lost it right away. Looking at the video I lost my right foot and didn't get back to the front of the bull so he just left me there going into the spin. On the second bull in the jackpot I had high-horned black bull that I was told was a flat spinner. When I got on, I knew what had bucked me off on the first one, so I figured I good ride this one. Well, I guess I only got 5.6 seconds. I was feeling good and then lost my feet. Watching the video, my upper body looked good, but I wasn't getting a hold with my feet.
Over all, I feel I had a good weekend. I'm feeling positive, like I was going into Innisfail last year. It feels good to get out of that pit!
It's been too long since I've been on. Work kind of got me bogged down for a bit. I got on three tonight. The first one was too small for me and I pretty near broke his back!! He fell down right out of the chute and trapped my leg. Got away okay though. The second one came out and suddenly I was flying out over the front head. I must have been reaching too far and lost my feet. The third one I felt really good. He was just a good straight jump-kicker and I tried really hard on him and did all right. I wasn't particularly happy with it, but it was okay. I didn't get a good hold with my feet and my right arm must've dropped, but during most of the ride I really felt aware of everything that was going on with my arms and legs.
I love this sport!!
I got on two this night. The first one didn't go very well, but there was one noticeable difference (to me anyway). I started to come off to the right and made a move, but ended up coming off the left. I still wasn't very happy with that ride.
The second one I got one was just a little pooch. When they opened the gate he kind of stood there dumbfounded. When he finally started going out he didn't buck very hard. However, I did start to slide off the left side.
I think I'm still a little scared after the gate opens. I have to deal with it.
I got on two tonight two. The first one was a really big boy, one of the biggest I've gotten one. I was told he didn't buck very hard, but did spin a little, so I decided to challenge myself and get one. However, I really screwed up. I nodded my head before he was looking. By the time he finished taking his time going outside, he had brushed me against chutes and gates and I was so far off my rope that I fell off right away. I should have been able to recover by lifting on my rope and sliding forward, but I didn't.
On the second one, I got out of the chute and after about two jumps I started falling towards his head. His horn dinged off my mask (Thank God I bought one a month ago) and I must've banged my chin on his head. When I got back behind the chutes, someone handed me a rowel that had fallen off my spur. (No wonder I didn't get a hold with my feet!!) I also had a bit of a leak in my chin. I had to get twelve stitches. Oh well, that's the way it goes.
I left pretty ticked off this night!!
I only got on one bull and didn't get a good hold with my feet. One of my spurs got really bent out of shape. (In fact it was the same spur that the rowel fell out of last week!!) I'll to take John's suggestion and work on my stationary barrel without my rope to get my legs in shape.
Jordan was back from school for the week and came out and got on one. He fell back on his rope right out of the chute and only made a couple of seconds.
I only got on one again tonight. I've been feeling really tired and my wrist has really been bothering me. (I wonder if its too much tape). I got on a yellow bull and when I wanted the guy to pull on my rope I said "okay" a little too loud and the bull thought it was time to start going, so he gave a couple of bucks right there in the chute. Luckily, my spot was doing a good job and I got out of there okay. When I got down on him and nodded my head, he came out and bucked straight for 3 or 4 bucks and then turned to the left. I stuck with him through the turn, but the next buck had me on the ground. Guess what wasn't working. My legs!!
This was a nice change, they were paying us to get on, not the other way around. I got up there and found out they only had 13 bulls. I was hoping to get on three or four. I got on two, most guys only got on one. Fifty bucks in my pocket. Covers gas and that's about it.
Anyhow, on to the rides. The first one was a big ol' yellow bull. I got down on him and ended up messing around in the chutes like my bull on Tuesday night (but this time it was just on his one, I didn't yell anything out). I nodded my head and got out three or four jumps. I started to come off to the right, but in my mind I knew the move I had to make, I just didn't make it. That's not good, but on the positive side I'm starting to think out there. I twisted my ankle good on the landing and had to limp out of the arena
The second one also messed around in the chutes. I had to take him lying down (the little sulk) so the opened the gate slowly and I only lasted two or three bucks and came off the right side.
Common theme on these bulls? LEGS!!! I'm not squeezing enough with them. I think it's thigh-master time!!
On the drive up to Olds I felt the best I've ever felt going anywhere to ride bulls. I figured I was going to have the ride of my life. Figures, I would feel that way, I got there and there were no bulls, the stock truck had broke down!!
The had a bunch of little bulls up there. I figured there'd be no problem riding any of these. Well, I can by far, say that I had the worst ride of my life. I got on a real bad bucker (of course I didn't know this until after), nodded my head, the chute opened and my face was in the dirt!!! I was not very happy. There had a bunch of steers going in and since I couldn't afford to get home 1 or 2 in the morning, I had to leave with that being my only ride.
On Friday, I got on two bulls. Before I climbed on, Jack told me to be sticking out my chest and gut so I don't get folded over. (I had always been sucking my gut in). When the bull came out; my feet were flying every which way, but I kept putting them back in. Suddenly the bull stumbled and jerked me down (the mask saved me again!!!) and I was off. It was only about a four second ride, but good. On the second bull, my mind must've been tired. I came out and my head was going every which way (I didn't tuck my chin) and lost my feet, as I came off, my left spur caught in my bull rope and the either the bull or my bells got me square between the legs. Nothing serious thought.
I got on two again on Saturday. The first one came out and tried to rub me off on the chutes, the wall and was going for the fence when I more or less bailed. Watching the tape, I saw that I was off my rope the whole time and since he didn't buck at all, I was just muscling it to stay on. The second one came out and turned back to the right. Don told me I was there but just didn't think I could do it and didn't make a move to get back in there.
For the Sunday, I decided to get one only one. I really wanted make it count for the buckle (best ride/most improved, I didn't care). When I nodded by head I really thought I was ready. My feet were there, I was lifting on my rope, and sticking out my chest and gut. I nodded my head, he came out really hard. I hadn't been leaning forward far enough in the chute, so my riding arm was straight. When he came down I had nothing to give and ended up doing a mid-air cartwheel and hitting the ground. I was terribly upset after that ride. I had thought that I had had it and was going to make a ride. I'm not done yet!!
The cow I got on just came out of the chute and ran. I stuck on her without a problem, but only got 55 points. Well, I guess 55 points is better than a kick in the butt. The judge told me that I'd have had a better chance at getting a re-ride if I had have been spurring some. My get off wasn't at all right either. I didn't even try to do it right.
In the bull-riding, I drew a bull called "Calculated Blow-a-part" (the CAARA rodeos are chute-draw, meaning I don't know which bull I have until they run them into the chutes). I knew this bull and I know what a little jerk he can be in the chutes. I think I let his reputation in the chutes get to me. He gave me no trouble at all in the chutes. I got out on him and he just pretty much straight. I came off to the right. I didn't have a good hold with my feet and came off to the right. He stepped on my leg and ripped the strap on my chaps.
They had a lot of little bulls up at Alder Flats. I was worried about getting one of them, cause they usually just fall down with my 185lbs on their back. I had my eye on a big red bull or a big white bull. The white looked kind of familiar. (I wonder if I was on him at Stettler last year.) I drew the big white one. I was told he'd come out buck good and go around to the left and spin in big wide circles. I nodded my head in the chute and had a good hold with my feet for a couple of jumps, but start to come off to the right. I made a move back and got centered good, but then I lost my feet and came down for another meeting of the minds (see Olds - Feb 16) and came off to the right. Looking at the tape, I see that my back was "bowed" too much. I wasn't sticking out my chest and gut when I nodded me head. Well, that's what we'll be doing right tomorrow!!!
I drew a bull by the name of "Noseeum". This has been one of the few times in my bull riding career that I knew something about a bull I was about to get on. Most of the rodeos I've done have been "chute draw" meaning if I'm #3 on the list, the third bull in the chutes is mine. I have no idea until it's time to go. That means that there's not a lot of time to find out anything about him and to think about it. I was told by a couple of guys that Noseeum would go to the left right out of the gate. Well, the little jerk came out and started to go to the right. That, combined, with my most common buck-off cause, losing my feet, I was on my back and one the ground in 2 or 3 seconds.
I drew a bull by the name of "T-Bone". I figured if he was no good, I'd eat him. He beat me of the chute and had me sitting on my pockets and was whipping me around all over the place. When he started to spin and just came flying off, because I wasn't the least bit in control. It was about a 3-4 second ride. The good news is that my feet looked better.
Well, it was a repeat of my ride back in April at jackpot for the bull riding school. I drew a little black bull named "79". He came out hard and had a lot of drop. I had no feet and he jerked me down hard into a somersault right out of the gate. Needless to say, I was a little salty afterwards.
I drew a little bull named "Light'N Up". He couldn't quite support my weight in the chute was his back was quite bowed. I thought I'd have no problem riding this bull, but I lost my feet and wasn't able to make it. Looking at the video, he came out with a nice little jump, but bucked me off after I lost my feet.
I drew a tall black bull. When the chute gate cracked a turned out my feet and (I thought I) stuck my spurs into him, but two or three jumps out and I was in the dirt. Looking at the video, it almost looks like I bailed.
This one kinda came up last minute at a local ranch. A local company was hosting their annual Stampede party and they had a little bull riding with it. My friend John had tweaked my spurs a little, locked my rowels down and turned them in a few degrees. I drew a bull by the name of Tiger. He came out and went straight. As he came near the fence, I made the mistake of looking at the fence and ended up there. BUT, that wasn't until AFTER the horn. My feet stuck good enough to get a 65 score!!! It wasn't enough to be in the money, but it's a BIG milestone. It's better than being tied for last like all the other times. In fact, since I was the first guy to make the horn, I was even leading for a while!!
I drew a vacuum, whoops, I mean bull by the name of "Dirt Devil". I came out and started coming over the front. I didn't make a move by throwing my arm back, so I came off quick!
On my cow, I did the same thing I did at Buck Lake. I started coming out over the front end and didn't make a move back. Looking at the tape, that cow really bucked. I could've won if I had made an effort.
On my first bull, I got fouled at the gate when the gate man was taking his sweet time opening the gate so I was off before the bull even left the chute, but since the judges were paying attention, I got a re-ride. For my re-ride bull, I got a little black bull that I should've had no problem riding. Len Anderson told me it was just a little practice bull. Well, damnit it looks like I need a lot more practice! I started coming over the front end, BUT I made the right move and got back. Then I started going off to the right and didn't make the move back. No effort on my part. I suck.
Three Hills drew me into Sunday, but I was also up in Carstairs. I decided to turn out of Three Hills. $73 for a bull I didn't even get on.
On my cow I kinda screwed up and my cow was looking out the gate when I nodded my head and she came out backwards. I had my feet in pretty good, they came out once or twice, but I stuck them back in. But I was concentrating on my feet too much and didn't make a move when I started coming off to the left (well that's a change, it used to be right caused I dropped my arm.) I made about 6 seconds on her.
On my bull (Diamond Joe) I was really pumped. Blair Anderson made a really, really pretty ride right in front on my. I hopped on, nodded my head, one jump, two jumps and...landed on my back HARD (off to the left side). I was a little winded, but mostly just PO'ed. Watching the tape I hadn't been lifting on my rope enough and sticking out my chest so I came off of my rope on the second jump and the third I was on the ground. "Take heed Sankey's preaching, keep lifting and reaching and ride like there ain't no clowns" (Garth Brooks, "The Fever")
I'M NOT DONE YET!!!
On Friday night, I drew a bull by the name of "Tennessee Tuxedo". He came out straight about three jumps and went right. For the first three jumps I felt like I was lifting good on my rope and had been feet in good. When he went right, I went left. Whoops. I landed on my feet and the first thought in my head as I scrambled away was "You wimp!! You didn't even try!" I once had a guy tell me that you get bucked off and land on your feet, you didn't try. I had to watch the tape to figure out what I did wrong, but it looks like I did loose my right spur when he went right.
On Saturday night, I drew "Butterball". I had seen him the night before and a couple times before. I knew that he would come out and go right. I would have to keep reaching out in front to stay on. When I nodded my head I turned my spurs in and thought I had a good hold. He came out strong. On the first jump, I threw my arm over my head and went left when he went right. (Sound familiar?) I wasn't happy. And to tope it off it was a miserable night. All I got was frostbite!
Another day, another rodeo. No! Wait! I'm still at Bowden. AAAAAAARRRGGGHHHHH!!! I'm kidding. It's not so bad. In the rodeo I was entered in the cows and the bulls. On my cow I came out feeling really good and solid. She came out straight and then neared the fence and went right. I somehow started to come off on her side, but I wasn't letting go!!! I hung on to her side for the last two seconds and got 55 points. The bullfighter told me as I walked back to the chute "If you get that far out of shape, save your butt and get out of there!" As true as that was, I didn't care. I had shown some try and made a ride.
Feeling good, I got onto a little bull and again when I came out of the chute I was feeling good. He came out straight and I stuck when him while he started to turn to the left. But I think I started to come off my bull rope (not lifting) and I was throw my arm across my body instead of over my head, so I came off at about six seconds. (I figure six seconds from the tape. I wasn't counting while I was on!) Overall, it was a fairly decent day and I felt good like I did back at Hale Lake and Carstairs last year. I just have to take it and build on it for Golden and Tees next weekend.
Like last weekend at Three Hills, I got drawn into Sunday for Rockyford. I decided to turn out of Rockyford and go to Bowden. Another $88 down the tube. I didn't even get a chance to try!
I drew the bull "Bull n Ball". The bullfighter told me that he didn't really buck but just kind of lunged and would follow him around. So I got my mind set, climbed on, and came off about three seconds later. I came down hard on my shoulder, but by the time I got up, I saw the bullfighter run in between me and the bull and I knew it was time to get running. I think I broke the record for the 100m dash. I was running full tilt to the fence and nobody was moving away. Lucky for them they finally did before I put my foot down on their fingers.
I thought about it hard afterwards and I think I lost my feet again. I couldn't get much out of the tape. I'll have to take a look at it again.
Well, at Tees last year everything began to fall apart again. This year things are just heating up at Tees. I was kind of tired from the short sleep and long drive from Golden, but I just kind of relaxed behind the chutes. I was up on both my cow and bull before intermission, so I wasn't going to be waiting around all day. I got onto my cow and (again) made the mistake of not making sure she was looking before I nodded my head. Luckily, they got her head turned before she went out backwards. I almost came off at about 4 seconds, but I made a good move back to center and stuck until the horn. I didn't get too excited because I thought it was just be another high 50's point ride. BUT, they gave me 67 points!! I'm still not quite sure why, as I write this, I haven't looked at the tape yet. It was good enough for top spot on Sunday and 2nd overall. There was a second section after intermission, but I stayed in 2nd and I got a check for $165. My first check!!! Woo hoo!!!!
Feel really positive I climbed onto my bull. I keep looking at him and thinking you look just like a cow. I can ride you. You're not going to buck me off. He came out and went straight. I was sticking in the middle and feeling good. In fact, three or four jumps out I was thinking "COME ON!! Buck". I think that might be my first totally conscious thought while on a bull. I knew he was nearing the fence and thought he would go left. I tried to get ready for it, but somehow ended up going right. It was just enough. I got the horn, but he stepped on my calf when I was down and I crawled to the fence. It was nothing serious, but it hurt. I got 61 points, putting me in third. I ended up 4th after the second section and got a check for $57.50!!
My first time getting a check and I get two!! What a great weekend!! $222.50. It was just enough to cover the expenses for the weekend, but I broke even and had a ball. It was great!!
I got on my bull first. He came out straight. I almost came off when he neared the boards (it was an indoor rodeo) but I made a move back to center. I ended up off to the right at about seven seconds. There was no excuse for it really. I just didn't make an effort. The tape showed that I had no feet.
I had a really rank cow. She came out and bucked really good. I almost went over her front end two jumps out of the chute made I threw my arm back and kept myself in good shape. She started to spin to the right but I went off to the left. When I watched the tape I watched myself throw myself off. I was throwing my arm up over my head and since I ride left handed that threw me off to the left when she was going right. I should have been reaching towards her head. Same problem I had at the Bowden Bullarama on Butterball.
It's been about two weeks since I've been on anything so I was feeling a little more nervous that usual. I had my cow first near the start of the rodeo. It was perfect. I felt good the whole way threw. I took a little extra time in the chute and made sure my feet were in the right spot. She stumbled a little just after she got out of the chute. It hardly even fazed me. Just after that I got my arm "windmillig" (just going around in a circle). I stopped that and stuck it out in front of me. When the horn blew, I waited for the bullfighter to get the cow going to right way and then got myself out of there. I didn't quite put enough effort into the get-off, so it wasn't quite perfect but good.
On my bull I couldn't quite get myself set in the chute. He was fairly big and wasn't given me a lot of room to get my legs down. I'm not quite sure if I couldn't do anything about it. When the chute opened I don't think I was really lifting on my rope and was just whipping around. The next thing I know I whack my head and whack the ground. Thankfully I only got a bump on the head.
I drew the bull "Devil's Claw". He was just a little bull, but a little tough to get out on. I had to get myself tied in standing up above him. I got down and didn't really take much time to nod my head. I guess he wasn't really looking out the chute like I thought he was because he kind of came of backwards. When he got out of the chute he went off to the right and I went off to the left. Before I good get up he came back around and drove me into the ground with his head. The clown got him off of me and I ran to the fence, a little shaken but okay. The crowd was louder than they had ever been for me before. The jerks!!
I drew a bull called "Darth Maul". He was another little bull, but easy to get out on. I took a little extra time and made sure I had my feet in the right spot and made sure he was looking out the gate. He beat me out of the chute and the second jump out I lost my right foot. I came off to the left, but not before whacking my head on his horn (I think, could've been his hoof). I scrambled up the chute and was bleeding pretty good just above the eye. I had to get 11 stitches, 6 on the inside and 5 on the outside. I'm not quite sure how I got hit there with the mask on, but it happened. Probably saved my eye. I have to quite riding like such a puss and not let them beat me out of the chute.
I "drew" Tiger again (I really think Alan fixed it). Oh well, after having a really bad weekend, I was somewhat happy to have a piece of crap like Tiger again. Just like last time, he went straight to the fence, but it was a little shorter getting there, because he came out of the closer side. When he got to the fence, he backed up a couple of steps and then fell down. I tried to get away, but my leg was stuck by 1500 pounds of top of it. Once the bullfighters got the flank strap undone, I got away clean. They gave me a re-ride.
On my re-ride bull I was sitting good until he went to the right. I thought that I had my feet in good. From the video, I could see that I sit up a little too straight. Especially, coming out of the chute, I sit up instead of letting the bull putting me up.
When I viewed the tape on both bulls, it looked like I had got myself set right in the chute and didn't get beat out, so that was definitely a positive step.
Since this was just a local amateur rodeo (only a $20 entry fee), I wasn't expecting any particularly strong stock. But, Big Stone brought some really good stock. It was mostly younger stuff, but good stock. I drew a little bull that was quite hooky in the chute. He wasn't too bad until I slid up onto my rope. I'm note quite sure if that was the best I could've gotten set, but I took it anyway. When I was out, I felt myself go right, but I moved back left. I went too far and found myself looking at the ground. When I viewed the tape it looked like I got a little beat out of the cute.
On Friday night, I drew Souvenir. He was good to get out on. I felt like I was with him out of the cute, but the tape showed by sitting myself up right out of the chute (instead of reaching forward). I lost my feet two or three jumps out and hit the ground, not before he left a little souvenir hoof print on my butt.
On Saturday night, Prime Suspect. From what I found out about him, it sounded like he would be an easy bull for me to ride. I came out good, but I think I fell a little behind, I managed to catch up. He came around to the left and slammed me into the chute and stopped. When he got going again I was quite a bit behind and ended up getting thrown off the back end in a somersault.
On my re-ride, "You Betcha'". He came out and went straight and I was right with him. Everything was perfect, I was sitting really good, until he started to spin to the right. I just didn't make a move and got into a little bit of trouble, but the bullfighter saved my butt.
On a side note, I got my final standings for CAARA, I eneded up in 6th spot for Men's Cowriding (out of 14 guys that made points this year (top 4 guys usually get points). I was also 14th of 14 guys in Bullriding. It ain't much, but it's something!
On Friday night, I drew Gothic, just a little black bull. When I came out I felt like I had my feet in him good, but two jumps out I felt my feet come up behind and didn't try to throw myself back and get my feet back into him. I came off right away. I don't think I was lifting on my rope and sticking out my chest.
On the way home, John Bales (he's been coaching me a lot this year), was talking to me about my attitude. I'm just not getting "in the zone". He's right.
On Saturday night, I drew Hangin' Out. Ivan Garstad had him Friday night and he sounded like a good bull for me to get on. He was another little black bull. He was a little tough to get out on, he kept moving back and forth. I probably should have taken a re-pull. Second jump out I felt like everything was loose like I was completely out of control, I came off right away and got a bit of a dirt bath courtesy of Hanging' Out. I got up okay, but I sure hate being down in the dirt with hooves all around me. From the video, I zigged instead of zagged. He went right and I went left. Same old thing lately, it's like I only know one move. I suck!!
I think it's time for some attitude adjustment. I'm probably going to take October off and not do any practice. I'll probably still go out and watch and try to pick up some pointers, but I've been going pretty steady since April last year. I'll be going to some big PBR events in October, the Bud Light Cup event in Calgary (Cody Synder's Bullbustin') and the PBR Bud Light Cup finals in Vegas!
No, I didn't ride at the PBR Finals, but I did go to watch the last two days. I had an awesome time, but when the Thomas and Mack center exploded it gave me goose bumps (in fact, I'm getting goose bumps as I write this a month later!!) The crowd was loud and had my adrenaline pumping and I thought "I'm coming back, but it will be with a bull rope in hand!!".
