About

This page is designed as a place containing all of my ukulele information. As a graduate from Island Ukuleles, I have taken to a more private study of the ukulele. I compose pieces for the ukulele, arrange pieces for the ukulele and relearn songs we played in Islands Ukuleles for solo ukulele. Many of the pieces that I play I record and upload onto this website.

General Info:
I am a first year university student undertaking a combined honours science degree in physics, math and/or computers. I also am really interested in my psychology courses, which really clashes with the fact I really hate biology and haven't taken it since grade 10.

Musical Background:
Ukulele is by no means my only instrument. I took classical piano to the post grade 10 level and am currently engaging in learning jazz piano. I also played clarinet throughout high school both privately and in various school ensembles as well as entertaining myself with a casual study of drumming. I really feel that my ukulele playing draws on elements learned from all three other instruments. I come from a family of musical people and as such we really have a myriad of music instruments such as two grand pianos, an electric piano, organ, clarinet, two flutes, trumpet, cornet, two guitars, mandolin, drum set, three ukuleles we own, often two others and last but very much not least: gourd shakers.

CD:
My current plan is to work towards releasing a private CD.  While technically I probably have enough recordings to put on a CD, I would like to rerecord and learn new ones until I am happy with the content of the CD. My CD is most likely going to be entitles Mas Alto Ideal which is Spanish for dream higher - appropriate, I feel, both because of my exploration with Spanish music and due to the nature of the ukulele not being an instrument one typically attributes as being capable of so much.
