Map 2012 cruising Area

Taonui is hauled out at the Oban Marina on Kerria Island on the western side of Oban Harour, Scotland. The mast is still up but the boom and all sails and rigging have been removed. A snug-fitting strong tarp covers the cockpit and entrance to the pilot house. Recently gale-force winds (up to 110 knots) have pummelled Oban and the north of Scotland. So far there have been no reports of damage though the boat next to us fell forward onto it's bow when a stand gave way. Our plans for the coming summer are to make our way through the Western Isles and then NE to the Orkneys, Fair Isle and the Shetlands. We will probably be in Bergen, Norway by mid-July and after some land travel, we hope to sail down the SW coast of Norway and return to Oban via the Caledonia Canal.

As we have done in the past we will post weekly reports on a blog site that can be accessed through the Recent Reports Page. There is also a link on that page which displays a map showing our route and present location
