    ART
  • Thorough grounding in theory and display of all art work....slide show of main concepts running.
  • Remember last year's June art work (watercolour) and origami (get going on watercolour immediately) (Students keep a scrapbook all year to keep sketches and ideas handy - and some water color paintings - in class and out!)
  • Halloween - decorate class with a bare sapling - suspend Halloween objects from it. 
    MUSIC
  • Drum to a good song as a class exercise...Cruel Summer - etc. 
  • Do the glass and water pitch xylophone thing.
  • Add Amazing Grace to vocal program...
  • Cut your own CDs of your class music! - Stand By Me, That's Amore, Banana Boat Song, Panis Angelicus, Exultate Justi, Zum Gali Gali, El Shaddai, Hail Holy Queen, They Call The Wind Maria, etc. Amazing Grace, Crazy
  • Daily Percussion
  • Use PMA5 for rap song assignments
  • Work to a talent show presentation
  • Stomp, Sister Act, Knight's Tale - benchmark video ideas for music!
  • They Call Wind Maria and Georgia - everyone write their own theme song!
  • Premier Kline called on Albertans to write an Alberta theme similar to Oklahoma but unique to Alberta - a competition.
 

 
    PHYSICAL EDUCATION

    GENERAL IDEAS 
  • Look for opportunities for a poem, word play ("prancome hince")
  • Find a spelling mistake each day on the whiteboard...I make deliberate spelling and math mistakes - you find them - you get a prize or token.
  • Print off money right away for class challenges and rewards to be redeemed for goods (parent volunteers to phone and procure) - Finance Minister to keep track!
  • Different experiment as an opener each day.
  • Occasional lab trips just to practice multiplication skills

    GENERAL IDEAS B
