2001-2002 Photos

Here are some photos of me taken since I got back from Japan in mid-January, 2001.

Stephen and I attended a lot of Christmas parties in November and December, 2002. These two photos show me at one of them in a bustier I bought at Knickers and Lace in Willow Park Mall in the south part of Calgary. It’s a 38D that has been taken in because the lower part was too loose. Normally I wear a 40C, but that would have been way too big through the body. The handsome guy beside me is my husband, Stephen. We’re actually almost the same height, but that night I was wearing four-inch heels.

At that same party we met one of Stephen’s friends who custom makes latex clothing and costumes. He was showing off some of his wares. When I saw this dress I thought it would be too small, but guess what—rubber stretches! I liked it so much I bought it.

This one shows me in a black dress I wore the night my wonderful boyfriend (now husband) Stephen took me to my department's (academic) year-end party, April 27, 2001.

Here is one of Stephen and me in my kitchen on April 25, 2001. It was right after I had picked him up at the airport upon his return from a harmonica convention back east. He has mentioned to me a number of times that he was fine with the idea of me posting his photo on my website. Isn't he cute? He looks taller than me in this photo, but actually I am about an inch taller than him.

The one below shows me in a 1956 Messerschmitt that belongs to Stephen. He restored it himself and it has been in two museums, including the Glenbow here in Calgary. These shots of the car were taken April 28, 2001.

This one shows me in the car with the plexiglass bubble top hinged open. It seats two, has three wheels (two in front, one in the back), and has a 200 cc, two-stroke engine. It can reach normal highway speeds. The model is called a KR200.

Here is a clear shot of the whole car. The manufacturer was the same Messerschmitt that built German military aircraft in World War II and today builds helicopters. After the war they were banned from making planes for a number of years and built a variety of different things in order to keep the factory open.

If you would like to find out more about the Messerschmitt and other odd little cars, here are some interesing links:
