Perhaps my favorite theme, Castle makes up the largest part of my collection. Even in my "Dark Ages" my family still bought me Castle sets, which seems doubly appropriate since I was in a LEGO "Dark Age" and was a regular participant in the Society for Creative Anachronism.
When I got back into LEGO and discovered LUGNET and the online AFOL community I was jealous of the moonbase module standard. I found the Medieval Marketplace Standard but it was missing something, castles. So I started pondering how to make a Castle standard. I guess I was not alone because before I could do more than pose the question on LUGNET I found that a bunch of guys had been working on what became the Classic Castle City Standard
Of course, much as I love the concept and have actualy started doing some building of CCC Modules, my main interest in Castle building is focused on Stackton. I have started to create a history of the fictional town with characters like the Baron's Guardsman (pictured above) and other historical figures.
