This watergate was built before the corresponding Corner Module which was pretty much just thrown together to give the gate something to attach to. I loved the interesting river plates and have been thinking of various ways to include them in a CCC compliant layout. Next I would like to try a bridge for the interior of the town.
The design challenge here was to give the gate enough height to allow for the passage of reasonable size boats with people and still meet the neighbouring modules at the requisite height.
Going through the gate is a raft carrying stone for building inside the town. The boatman and his assistant guide the boat through the gate towards the docks inside the town.
When joined together the two modules create a logical section as the corner unit has no stairs from the rampart to the ground but the watergate has a stairway right near the end.
