Information
about the Career Advisor
|
|

|
For those
who are not aware, we have a career counselor at Kits. Her name is Sherina Chandra and her official title is Career
Information Advisor.
This is the first year Sherina has worked at Kits
and over that time she has learned among other things, how to make effective
contact with parents as well as teens. br>
As she prepares for next year she would like to begin building a relationship
with Grade 11s and their parents so that communication during that critical
Grade 12 year is effective.
Sherina has noticed one glaring anomaly in her
contact list. To her knowledge, she doesn't have a single contact for any
Grade 11 parents. All parents are encouraged to email Sherina
if they would like to be on her mailing list.
Information from the Career Planning Centre comes out regularly, informing
people of student jobs, volunteer opportunities that help with portfolio
building but you have to be on her mailing list to get the information.
You can e-mail Sherina at schandra@vsb.bc.ca with
your contact information and don't forget to advise her of what grade your
teen is in.
