Kits PAC Executive will be meeting at the Starbucks
on 16th at MacDonald on Monday 10 September from 1 - 3 pm. If you are
interested in helping plan social events for parents or parent ed or advocacy
or just helping with the day to day running of the PAC, we will be there and would
love to see you!!

Secondary School
Dear Students & Parents,
I hope that you all had a great summer, and that you will have an even
greater school year! I've had a bit of a late start on things where I am not
as organized. However; I have had time to re-vamp the Kitsilano Career Centre
bulletin which has some very interesting topics.
In the latest issue you will find:
·Quick tips on preparing for scholarships
·Graduation transition plan
·Why one should volunteer
·Jobs
·Brief look at post-secondary entrance requirements
·What's to come ahead
For Grade 12's I have not received information on scholarships just yet, but
I will be in the next couple of weeks. I will communicate this information
out to you through e-mail, the bulletin board outside the main office and the
Career Centre bulletins which are now called "the Career Centre Chronicles."
Grade's 10's and 11's, there are many programs out there regarding the trade
industry which is comprised of: baking, contruction, electrical, hair design,
auto and much more. Come by the Career Centre to find out more.
Grade's 8's and 9's, volunteering in your communities is something to think
about. This will definately help you complete your Graduation Portfolio and
also prepare for scholarships up ahead!
If any of you have friends or parents that are not on my e-mail please
forward this to them and tell them to e- mail me with their contact
nformation.
Lastly, if any of you have any suggestions or feedback as to what else you
would like the Career Centre to assist you with please let me know!
