Map Walks

Welcome to our map walk events for 2012. Each year we try to introduce as much variety as possible into our schedule. Each of these walks is an adventure, taking you into areas that most of us would not visit were it not for Volkssporting.

The Surrey Trekkers host one or two map walk events each month throughout the year. Our largest event is an unmarathon held on the third weekend in August. This event consists of two 10 km and two 11 km map walks. Complete the four walks on the day of the event and the total distance walked is equivalent to completing a marathon. Participants have their choice of completing any number of the walks during the event.

Another significant event is our Xmas Lights walk and potluck dinner held in December. This is always a fun event to start off the Xmas season. Our members are not only good walkers, but they contribute a delicious assortment of foods for the potluck dinner. A glass of hot mulled wine does add to the evening.
