Welcome to My Class Web Page.

Welcome to my web page. My name is Sue Cunningham and I have been a teacher at this school for two years. I have been teaching for twenty-three years. It is my philosophy that teachers should change venues every five to six years. It provides a new route to travel to work as well as a new outlook, students, and colleagues to work and interact with. I am a music specialist by training, and I have taught music K-7, as well as grades three, four, six, and seven. I have coached volleyball, basketball, directed choirs, produced  school musicals, and sponsored student leadership groups.

I am married to my husband Ron (for 32 years) and we have two daughters. Our oldest daughter, Robyn, is a  primary teacher and the younger one, Allison, is an engineer. We became the proud grandparents of Avary (parents Robyn and Nick) who is 6 months old. She is very special and definitely this teacher's "pet"! We have a very "skittery" cat named Winston and two fantailed goldfish, named "Boys" who, very often, are found to be swimming upside down!! Still can't figure that one out!

My hobbies include swimming, golfing, fly fishing, skiing, biking, reading, and soon to be quilt making (as soon as I finish my 6th year). I used to love to cook gourmet, but I'm over that now! Having fresh flowers in my house is important to me and I love to plant them, but really dislike the weeding! I also love to sing and am currently singing in two choirs. One is a large community choir and the other is a small group called "Jewels". We sing a variety of music, but mostly music from the 40's to the 80's and some vocal jazz. We  love to perform for others and many people say we are pretty good.

I have a passion for math. Math is really a series of patterns and it is like trying to complete a puzzle by finding the patterns to put the puzzle together and solve the problem. It is my goal to try and change grade seven students' attitude toward math and increase their self-efficacy and self-confidence in this subject.

This site was designed to provide students and parents with a list of useful internet sites that are divided into four categories: reading, math science, and social studies. Enjoy the links to other interesting educational sites. Play some games, learn some interesting facts, and find out how these subjects are all connected to each other!

This site was designed by Mrs. S. Cunningham and fulfills one of the requirements of EDCI 396C through the University of British Columbia under the direction of Mr. David Brear.
