International Development Consultant
Stuart Black has over twenty years experience managing and implementing international development projects for multilateral organizations, bilateral agencies, government departments, consulting firms and non-government organizations.
His assignments have ranged from implementing capacity development projects, to managing field support units, to undertaking feasibility studies, in several countries throughout the Caribbean.
His most recent experiences include undertaking a feasibility study on Grenada's community tourism and craft sectors (2002-2003), and acting as Deputy Resident Representative for UNDP in New York, Jamaica and Guyana (2000-2002).

Stuart Black works with a variety of domestic and international partners and specialists to offer quality consulting services to clients in the following areas:
- Project Management: design, development and implemention of projects in a range of sectors including poverty alleviation, governance, the environment, tourism, among others.
- Capacity Development: strengthening of local capacities is vital to sustainability, whether the initiative involves a short-term project, or longer-term processes involving government departments, the private sector, non-government organizations, community organizations and the donor community. Capacity development eforts range from human resource development, to education and training, to strategic planning and institutional strengthening.
- Coordination of Aid: coordination among the various stakeholders and funding agencies is a critical element in achieving sustainable results, and involves extensive experience working with all groups.
- Business Development: successful project management and capacity development involves knowledge and experience with identifying sources of financing for ongoing operational support, and winning proposal writing skills.
