Lutherie

I have compiled a collection of construction tutorials for as many stringed instruments as possible. There are categorized links to instrument manufacturers, luthiers, lutherie suppliers and industry media.

Tonewoods

With the world's dwindling supply of old-growth forests threatening the availability of fine tonewood for this industry, I find the practise of beachcombing and sunken log retrieval to be far less invasive to the environment than the culling of the old-growth forests. I have provided links to tonewood suppliers who are sensitive to these environmental concerns, and to sites for general wood properties and conservation applications.
