Organized in 1943 - Received charter in March 1950.

Our motto is, "For God and Canada". We call its members to holiness through service to the people of God.

The CWL have meetings on the first Tuesday of each month beginning with a Mass,   meeting and then a social. We have about 14 ladies attend and sometimes our parish priest. Once or twice a year we meet with our sister Leagues out of town for conventions and Development Days.

The CWL are very supported to our church and to the students of our Catholic school. Twobursaries are given to a boy and girl graduating from grade 12.   We give to the Extended Care of the Hospital, Esk-omi Mission for the past 30 years or more.   We also support Cancer Society - Heart & Stroke and many others in need.

The CWL make perogies and have bake sales to support our missions, the sale St Patrick's Day tags (we make) to support our hospital, annual bazaar and sale of tickets to support our church, catering helps to give financial aid to the students, church and other commitments.

Youth Alive

Rick Geurts - Youth Minister

Youth Alive is a youth activity group, sponsored by St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Atikokan. Participation is open to all youth, grades 9 and up. St. Pat's School has been kind enough to allow us the use of their facilities. Please treat this property accordingly, so as not to jeopardize this arrangement. The teaching staff of St. Pat's has been very supportive.

This year's plan is to hold activities each Friday night and will be possible with sufficient parental/adult support. 2 adult chaperones are required each night. Please write your name/phone # or that of anyone who might be interested on the list provided. These individuals will be contacted and a rotating schedule setup.

Each year an overnight fundraiser 'ThinkFast' is held on Good Friday, in support of World Development and Peace. Last year >$2,600 was raised through the efforts of the youth committee.

A successful youth group's program must come from the youth. Each year a core group of youth form an executive to plan the Youth Alive activities. If you are attending AHS grades 9 or up and are interested in becoming a member of the Youth Alive executive, please write your name/phone # on the list provided.

Children's Liturgy

Facilitator - Shannon Richard

Instructors:  Tania Bimm

      Amanda Desgroseilliers

      Sandra Poulin

      Amanda Zawacki

This program is for children in Junior and Senior Kindergarten and trades One and Two. The liturgy for children is their special part of the same Mass upstairs. They begin each session by making the sign of the cross and by thinking about anything they've done to hurt others - together, they ask for God's forgiveness. The idea is to teach the children the format of the Mass they will be attending fully later on. The children receive instruction on the gospel message featured in their children's bulletin for that week and take part in a variety of creative activities relating to the message or theme, including crafts, puzzles and games. The session ends with special intention prayers presented by the children. Children's liturgy is a fun, enriching program for St. Patrick's youngest members.

Cursillo Group

Randy Makarenko - Elder

Cursillo in Spanish means "short course"... It is a 3 day encounter with JESUS that provides a method that enables us to walk more closely with HIM for the rest of our lives.

Cursillo encourages us to become better Christians, better Catholics and better Apostles in the world.

Each person who experiences Cursillo is free to exercise his or her apostolate as he or she feels called. That apostolate may be Pastoral Care, or Parish Youth Ministry, or Eucharistic Minister, or RCIA, or evangelizing their family, and so on. However, the apostolate is exercised, it is the choice of the person and not a pre-set objective of Cursillo.

In that encounter with JESUS at Cursillo, we truly see that JESUS is the GATE ... and we begin our pilgrimage towards GOD. . .

My brothers and sisters, we are all on a pilgrimage, and to be on a pilgrimage is to journey through Christ to the Father under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, with the help of Mary and all of the saints as you bring your brothers and sisters along with you.
