Who Are We
The Coven of the Stone & Cauldron was formed in August
1998, as a friendly hive from Coven Caer Logres in San Jose,
California. We practice Gardnerian witchcraft in the Long Island
lineage of our faith. Coven of the Stone and Cauldron is a
Gardnerian teaching coven. We offer in coven training for select
individuals. As a coven we come together to celebrate the
Sabbats, full and new moons, in times of need, and any other
times that moves us to do so.
We are located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, a city of
just over 900,000 people beside the foothills of the Rocky
Mountains.
You must live in Calgary
or the immediate surrounding area to be a member of the coven.
We have found from past experiences that it is
impractical for all involved to have to commute more than one
hour to and from the Covenstead, especially in the harsh
conditions we can experience during the winter months. Due to
our hectic schedules we do not offer any Internet or
correspondence training.
Do you already have experience with Wicca, either as a
solitaire or in a coven? Do you have a solid understanding the
basic principles and laws of our religion, but are still
searching for a more profound experience?
If you think Coven of the Stone & Cauldron might be a good
fit for you, consider the following:
-
As a member of the coven you will need to have an easygoing
manner and a great sense of humour. We love to laugh and see
the humour of the world, the Gods, and especially in
ourselves.
-
You will have an open-mind and be an enduring
seeker. The Gardnerian tradition is a life long path and the
journey of self is continual.
-
You will be grounded with a
stable lifestyle. It is an ill-fated journey for those who
use craft as therapy or a fix for all of life's problems.
-
You have a sense of your own personal power and desire to
make the Gods part of your life each day.
-
You are a person
of your word and honourable actions are part of your moral
tapestry.
These are some of the personal traits that you
must have to make a solid foundation for learning Gardnerian
craft.
Please note: The coven only accepts other initiated
Gardnerians who have moved to the Calgary area. If you are
not a previously initiated Gardnerian then you will be
expected to complete additional training unless your
previous initiation and experience held in another formal
craft tradition is applicable.
Each application for Coven membership will be assessed
individually.

About our web page and its contributors
We have taken an oath that says that we will respect and
protect the rights of all those who we meet in circle to
chose WHEN, HOW and by WHOM they will be known, calling them
as THEY chose to be called and revealing their participation
to no one except by their explicit permission. This web page
respects this oath and is a representation of those
conveners who CHOOSE to be known, and those who wish to
share their experiences via this web page.
Who are we?
Who are we and why are we doing this? There is a
misconception that Gardnerians are secretive, aloof and
repetitive, a complete opposite of who we actually are. In
fact we are just oath bound on certain materials, very
approachable and creative with our turning of the wheel.
There are already many websites that discuss the Gardnerian
tradition, who started it, what it's all about and so on.
This web page is not about that. You will not find any
information on our Book of Shadows or any other oath bound
materials or rituals. You will find no spells, no requests
for money or support, no ads, and no forums. You can not and
will not become a Gardnerian by reading this site or linking
your web page to this site. That happens in covens, not from
a book or a website.
What you will find is a group of like-minded individuals,
sharing a bit about our lives, and see how we share all of
this with the Gods on a daily basis. There is no one true
path to the Gods, and Gardnerian craft is not the only path
available to seekers. It is however the path we chose and
for a multitude of personal reasons. As this web page grows
you will see more pages of interest that will help you to
get to know us better.
