S. John The Evangelist is a centre of orthodox Anglo-Catholicism.

Accordingly, we are full member parish of the
           Anglican Essentials Network
and member of the
           Prayer Book Society of Canada

Our belief is well summed up in
           The Solemn Declaration of 1893.

And, as a Shrine Church of Our Lady of Walsingham, we endeavour to give full expression to the Faith once delivered as evidenced in Scripture and attested to in the Creeds and Councils of the undivided Church.

We, the congregation of S. John The Evangelist Church Calgary, with all Christian people:

· accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord, God, and Saviour

· worship God the Most Holy Trinity

· rejoice in the Power of the Holy Spirit

· seek to obey the will of our Heavenly Father

· strive to bring the Gospel message to all

· attempt to serve the community around us

· try to live in mutual support and love

 

Our particular mission as an Anglican parish in the Inglewood area of Calgary includes:

· faithfulness to Scripture and Holy Tradition as found in common life based on traditional classical Anglicanism as enunciated in the Solemn Declaration of 1893

· express this faith in living traditional Anglo-Catholic Prayer Book worship

· bringing the Gospel to this area of the city and welcoming all those attracted by our life in Christ

· nurturing of special spiritual and pastoral gifts of the Holy Spirit

· continuing our support of the Diocesan mission and outreach

· maintenance of the beautiful and historic building and facilities which God through our predecessors has left us for the service of our whole community.
