Arches National Park,Utah

We based ourselves out of campgrounds in the town of Moab, and Arches National Park for the next five days, doing some biking in the areas outside the park and hiking in the park. Arches is famous for it's arches ( go figure!) and with the easy access it proved to be a fairly busy place, with tourists from all over the world.Still worth a visit though.

The next attraction was the "Fiery Furnace",an area of rock "fins" separated by passages of varying widths. Not as hot as the name would suggest, entering this area is allowed only by paid permit or joining a ranger guided hike.We chose the guided option and learned how the fascinating landscapes of "canyon country" were created.

So that was it for Arches, we packed up and went north and west to the final stop on our tour. Click here to see where we went to next.
