Welcome to the slideshow of our early October trip to the canyon country of southeast Utah. Unlike your uncles slide show, you can skip out anytime you like if you"ve seen enough. The pictures are fairly low quality, they have been resized to keep download times low as there are a lot, just couldn't decide which ones to use, so here are all of our favorites!
Two days driving from Calgary brought us to the campground at Needles, south and west of Moab, where we met up with some friends, Larry and Karen, and Jim and Myrna, from our ski club, who happened to be down there at the same time. Our first days hike was the Big Spring Canyon-Squaw Canyon Loop, two valleys separated by some interesting and fun scrambling over sandstone.
The next series of pictures are from our walk to Chesler Park, a more or less flat, open area surrounded by the Needles on three sides. This is a great hike with a variety of terrain and new vistas around every bend.
After another fine night around the campfire under the stars, we headed back north. Click hereto visit Moab and Arches National Park.
