Affirming Ministry Small Group
The Affirming Ministry program is an opportunity, a challenge, a hand reaching out. It is for local churches and other United Church Ministries who are ready to begin a dialogue about the concerns of transgender, bisexuals, lesbians, two-spirit and gay men in The United Church of Canada. It is a journey of education, discussion and prayer, leading to becoming a ministry which welcomes all. To be in ministry to and with all involves an attitude of sensitivity and openness to the gifts and graces of each person. It requires an appreciation that teaching and learning are a two way process of mutual listening and understanding. Please see our bulletin board in the hallway. If you have any questions, there is an envelope there you can leave them in. You could also go to the SMRUC Forum (see link at top of page) and start a discussion there. We'd love to hear from you.
