"December 20, 1897- MISS EMMA E. STUTTING, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Stutting, was born May 9, 1880, after a brief illness of eight hours, died at the home of her parents, five miles southwest of Delmar Dec. 15, at the age of 17 years. The cause of her death was apoplexy. Funeral services were held at the Union Church Thursday Rev. Boomershine officiating. Interment took place in the cemetery by the church. (This is Marion's daughter."

1Obituary.
George Helferich, son of Mr. and Mrs. Philliph Helferich, was born in Cape Vincent, New York, in 1853. At an early age he came with his parents to Michigan and from there to Iowa when George was but ten years old. Thus all of his life from then on was lived in Clinton and Jackson counties, excepting the last year which he spent with his son Philip, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, where he died May 28, 1927, aged 74 years.

Well known to Delmar residents and many others of early pioneer stock, he was noted for those rugged qualities of manhood which ewre the endowment of men who tilled the virgin soil of Iowa's prairies.
Those surviving to mourn his loss are his children, Mrs. Berth Schidleman of Mt. Vernon, Washington; James Helferich of Clare, Iowa; Philip of Fort Dodge and Lewis of Clinton, Iowa. Two brothers, Charles of Olewein, Frank of Maquoketa and 22 grandchildren, besides many others, both relatives snd friends.
Funeral services were held from the Buchner chapel Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev F. C. Worcester of the Methodist church with internment in Mt. Hope Cemetery."

"August 24, 1899- WILLIAM FOX of Monmouth, he of great age and many marriages, has again embarked on the sea of matrimony. He was united in marriage yesterday to MRS. MARTHA STUTTING by Justice Ralston at his office in this city. This is Mr. Fox's fifth marriage and the bride's second. He is only 93 years of age and she is forty-five."2Obituary.
"MAQUOKETA IOWA EXCELSIOR-- December 10, 1907 Monmouth: Wm. Fox the old veteran of the Mexican and Civil Wars died at his home near Maquoketa Saturday afternoon. Mr. Fox is an old resident of Monmouth but after his marriage with this wife has resided most of the time near Maquoketa."

"March 29, 1895-
JOHNSON STUTTING was born in Bloomfield Township, Clinton County, Iowa, June 22, 1854, and married Martha Helferich January 11, 1876. Six children have been born to them and four of them still live. Several years ago he met financial adversity and did not seem to be himself afterward. Lately things have been against him and his actions were very queer, though he was not really counted insane. Last Friday morning his two days old babe died and two hours later he was found dead hanging in his barn. It is sad when a man so far looses himself as to take his own life. Sunday at 2 o'clock the services were held at Union church by Rev. J.R.A. Hanner, of Delmar, and father and child were laid to rest by the church."

Mrs. Deby Schad, 92, Dies Here Wednesday
Mrs. Deby Shad, 92, died Wednesday morning after a three week illness. She is the mother of Mrs. Emma Baker of Bonners Ferry.
Mrs. Schad was born in Michigan and had lived in eastern Montana and Canada before coming to make her home with her daughter in Bonners Ferry six years ago.
Funeral services have been tentatively set for Froid, Mont., Sunday."
