Race information Small boats

Sproat Lake Canoe Club Presents:

July , 2009 Small Boat Race (two heats 9:00 and 10:30) and family picnic 12:00 pm

Join us for small boat races bring your canoe, kayak, surf ski, oc1, oc2. (This was a great family day last year.)

Special events: yet to be cofirmed Leslie O'Neill of extreme interface may be bringing up a variety of Lightspeed kayaks for demonstration purposes 12:00-3:00. Ashley Rowe from Nanaimo Canoe and kayak Club will have a variety of canoes and kayaks including C4 and K4's available for demonstration. There may be a possiblity of a Mars Water Bomber tour if a bomber is available and workload permits. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Location: Port Alberni, BC , Canada – Sproat Lake Provincial Park

Race course Small Boat: 10km, (Additional shorter course 2km, depending on registration.)

Race Management : Sproat Lake Canoe Club. We provide motor boats for safety.

Providing your boat, is your own responsibility.

Facilities: Sproat Lake park is equipped with washroom facilities and a boat launch. Provincial campsites may be reserved( well in advance) at the Sproat lake Provincial Park.

Start time: register at 8:00 am . launch boats

Medals: for 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd .

Registration: Waiver forms

Registration is accepted on a first-come-first-served basis and may sell out before the deadlines. We encourage teams to register as soon as possible in order to secure a spot.

Race Fees & Deadlines

Deadline: June , 2009

Small Boat: entry fee $10.00 per paddler (note, must be a member of CORA, membership available for the day at $5.00)

Late Registration : Subject to available space.

Pre race Payment Option : Cheque*. or Cash on the day of the race
