This web site contains the original Italian and translated English versions of my grandfather's memoirs from his experiences during the First World War. I would like to thank Nonno for having the forethought to write down his personal history. It's an incredible account of a young soldier's journey from a small town in Calabria, to the treacherous slopes of Monte Grappa in the Italian Alps, to prison camps deep within the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
