Velma - November 2005

Velma was brought into foster care in my home when she was brought to the Soo from White River. She spent her first month at the town dump, abandoned and fending for herself. A kind woman took her and others from the town dump into her home, cleaned them up, socialized them, and got them ready for new homes. The group of kittens that she sent to the Soo included Velma, but the person who was going to adopt her changed her mind. She called me to foster this little garbage dump kitty with nowhere to go, so I took her into my home, thinking she could have some fun and socialize with my 5 kitties a bit more. I had a vet check her out where it was determined that she was now about 12 weeks old, she got her first group of shots and a deworming also. Velma is a very affectionate kitten and you would never know that she started off in a garbage dump. She stayed here for awhile longer and I almost added her to my assortment of felines since she was such a sweetheart, but a kind woman contacted me a few times inquiring about her. I told her that I would let her go to a caring home that would get her spayed when her time came and that if there was a time when she was not wanted for any reason at all, I would take her back in a minute. The woman got her kitten supplies and said this would be a wonderful Christmas present.
