Fundraisers

        A & P Grocery Receipts

With sincere appreciation, we thank all who submitted their A & P slips for our fundraising efforts!  The program has now been discontinued so we no longer will be collecting the slips.  We continue to focus on other fundraisers like the annual plant sale, etc.  Many thanks again!

Spring Plant Sale - click here to view the details for this year's sale.

To support our work in the community, we carry out various plant-related fundraisers.  Although we’ve hosted very successful spring and fall bulb campaigns, our most profitable fundraiser is the annual plant sale. For the past few years, it has been organized by Suzanne Hanna and the Green Team - a fabulous group of members volunteering countless hours to help dig up and pot plants for the sale. Rain could not daunt gardeners from accessing plants, shrubs, and garden-related items generating over $6,000 in just four hours! (2004 figure)

Guest vendors have included Country Depot, New North Greenhouses, Lemieux Composting, Clean North, and individual donors such as Al Gordon, Don McGorman, and David Riddick. Volunteers are numerous individuals offering vehicles to transport plants, and assist in any way possible. Refreshment tables are usually manned by faces familiar to meeting attendees, namely Carolyn Mackie, and Vicky Lapensee.

Entertainment has been provided by Fred Kent and the Northernairs who appear in the early hours to serenade patient customers waiting in line.

We wish to applaud the many organizations, local businesses and individuals who have donated plants, materials, services and manual labour towards our community projects.
