2011 Flower and Vegetable Show Announcement!

 

Once again our dynamic duo, namely Jane Moody and Lynda Cottingham have organized our ANNUAL FLOWER AND VEGETABLE SHOW ! Once again this show will be held at the Station Mall, Dennis Street Court entrance.

Presenting it here allows plenty of room for members to display their talents and ingenuity as well as the public to ooh and aahh over the exhibits!  We take this moment to thank the Station Mall for their continued support in community activities such as ours!

 

Station Mall is a great venue to show off our creative plantings without having everyone trampling through our gardens.

    

Entries are accepted as follows:

Friday, August 5 

-

7:00 p.m. - 8:00 pm.

Saturday, August 6

-

7:00 a.m. -  9:30 am.

 Please note that absolutely NO entries will be accepted after 9:30 deadline!

Judging      10:30 - 12:00 noon

THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO VIEW ENTRIES

from noon 'til 4:00 pm.

 

Members are allowed only one entry per class.

 

 

 

The team reports past entries and designs have become increasingly creative - it would be great to see some fresh ideas once again this year. Remember that you must be a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Horticultural Society to participate.

And please remember that ALL exhibits must be removed Saturday before 4:00 pm.

REPORT - From the Flower Show Committee

 

We are now concentrating on our August 6th Flower and Vegetable Show at the Station

Mall. Check the program for details. We still need volunteers to help out in various

capacities- no heavy work. Please call Jane at 949-5395 or any other committee member if

you can help. Do seriously consider entering some exhibits or designs in the show. So many of

you have wonderful things in your garden to share.

The show is a great opportunity for the Horticultural Society to show what we are growing,

and to show off our artistic talents in the design category. Tell your non-member friends

about the open Adult category- someone might want to enter. Don't forget to come out and

see the show. Tell your friends about it too. ---Jane Moody
