Trollhaugen Culture Camp

This is an amazing cultural experience run by the Sons of Norway lodges in Alberta at a beautiful camp called Deer Valley Meadows near Alix, AB. It is a camp for kids, teenagers, parents and grandparents with a whole host of Norwegian games, crafts, cooking, woodworking, language, music and dance instruction. Accomodations range from cabins and dorms to bringing your own RV to stay in. This year it is a Vikings theme and the dates are Aug. 10 - 16th, 2008. Contact Helen Evjen at hjevjen@shaw.ca

Annual Scandinavian Folkdance and Music Workshop

The 8th Annual Scandinavian Folkdance and Music Workshop is to be held in Calgary, AB from Sept. 17th – 21st, 2008. This is a great workshop with very talented instructors often brought straight form Norway. You may sign up for the full workshop or just the weekend.
