Poltergeist
My first encounter with a ghost was in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We had a new house built in the west end of town. It was 1984, so I was 14 years old.
Things were fine in the new house until one day when I was upstairs laying on my water bed, waiting for my brothers to come home. It was about 3:30 maybe 4:00pm in the summer time, so it was still light out. I was just listening to the radio when something caught my eye.
I turned to look, and a silhouette of a man entered my room. It look like an older gentleman, over say, 60 years old. He was wearing a phadora type hat. Even though I could still see right through him, I could make out the hat. He walked along the length of my bed, looking at me the whole time. I watched him as he moved around my bed to the other side before coming straight at me. I felt a cold chill run through me from my left side to my right, and then.....nothing. It was gone.
I can remember it like it was yesterday, even though it was twenty one years ago. Things like that you never forget. I thought I was going to crap my pants, but you know what? My body was frozen the whole time. Nope couldn't get up my butt with a jack hammer at that point. Nothing going in, nothing coming out. I remember that feeling, like I was having a heart attack. All I could move was my eyes. That was one of the scariest days of my life. I laid there motionless for 3 hours after that, until someone got home.
Soon after that we had a poltergeist in the house for about 3 months. We could hear dishes breaking at night and glasses popping, when there was no one in the kitchen at the time. One of my brothers said he had a plate move in front of him when he was eating breakfast. My dad and stepmom and one of my brothers did not believe any of it, but boy did my parents freak when we brought home an original Ouija board.....Maybe that's what started it all. We had a freaky experience with that thing too. Me and my friend Jay moved the heart across the board without touching it at all.....haven't touched one since.

An Evil Presence
Another one of my experiences was at my friend Danny's house when I was about 11 or 12 years old. I went over for a movie night and I was told that their basement was haunted, well the laundry room and one spare bedroom and the stair case where they would hear foot steps at night.
I was told that at his brother slept in the spare bedroom next to the laundry room.He used to hear the door open to the living room all the time. He would get up and no one was there. He also got real stupid one night and asked the spirit to possess him. As he heard the noises in the laundry room he started to should out, "Possess me, possess me!!" (((Smash))) He runs out into the laundry room to find some of the pickling jars smashed on the ground. So then he yells out, "I said possess me, not break the fucken pickles!!"
Needless to say this was on my mind as we started to watch one of the Friday the 13th movies. About half way into the movie we heard the door to the laundry room creak and every one turns to look........it opened about 5 inches. Freaked us all out. Needless to say we slept in the basement that night and didn't hear anything else. Maybe the spirit just wanted to watch TV.

Grandpa
My mom had an experience once when my grandpa died. He was in the hospital for having a heart attack and my mom was hope to get some sleep. She said she woke up because someone was tugging at her feet. She sat up to see her dad at the end of the bed. She thought she was dreaming and did the blinking of the eyes thing, but he was still there. She said it was so real that she could smell him. My grandpa told her not to worry and that everything was fine. He said his goodbyes and disappeared with a smile on his face. About an hour later my mom got the phone call that her dad had died. To this day she is convinced that it was her dad at the foot of her bed that night. As far as we know she was the only one that got the 'visit'. She was the only girl in the family and was the second oldest. Grandpa's favorite maybe. We did live the closest to Grandpa and Grandma and saw them more then everyone else in the family.

Someone forgot To Move On
One night my girl friend at the time and I went to my brothers place for the night. He lived in a haunted house in Yarrow. It was an old farm house that he was renting. Kinda looked like the Amityville house on the out side. Same spooky windows at the top.
I had been in that house once before in the day time to help him clean it when he first moved in. We were washing one of the cupboards and this red die started to run out from the front of one of the shelves. We all made jokes that the house was bleeding. It was only die in the wood.
So the last time I went to his place was with my girl friend Bonnie (my son's mother) and it was for the night. Things went ok for the most part, it was getting late and my girl friend was tired so she went to lie down on a bed in a room just off from the front door. If you went in the front door there was just a door to the right leading to that room, and a very steep stair case leading up to two bedrooms. They were small bedrooms with slanted ceilings. You got that spooky feeling when you went up there.
Anyway, Bonnie went to sleep while my brother and I stayed up watching movies.About an hour had passed and I went to check on Bonnie to see if she was sleeping ok. As I walked into the room, she was sitting up on the bed trying to scream and pointing at the door to the stairs. My heart started to race...I grabbed her and shook her and yelled her name....my brother came running in to see that was happening. The door to the stairs was now open. Bonnie finally caught her breath and told us that some old man opened the door and was motioning for her to follow him upstairs.
Of course I am totally freaked out at this point. My girl friend has had other experiences "seeing" people that no one else could. I just always thought she was a nut :)
So needless to say we all got a little scared...well my brother was a bit skeptical. So we decided to get out of the house for a bit. We went to the Esso truck stop on Lickman road in Chilliwack and got some pop and smokes. We returned to the house and my brother was making fun of me cause I was freaked out. He was telling us that the lady who he was renting off of had her father pass away recently and that she told him that "He" may just show up. Ok that wasn't helping.
When we did get back...of course we had to go upstairs and check on things. Strange part was although I was scared...I was calming down and my pulse was dropping slowly. We checked out the rooms at the top of the stairs. One room felt fine..the other was cold, they still had her dads bed and dresser and a chair by the window. At the end of the room where the ceiling was the lowest, there was a small door about 2 feet high against the wall. We opened that and there was a small storage area with books and drawings left from one of the kids that used to live there....That was enough for me...down stairs I went. We all decided to sleep in the living room that night. I had a hard time. I knew I should have been scared but my pulse was still dropping. I kept fighting to stay awake, felling like someone wanted me to sleep?? I finally fell asleep and awoke the next morning. The eerie feeling was gone and nothing else happened. I moved to Edmonton that morning, never to return to that place in Sardis again

MY SISTERS FRIEND SUSIE
My youngest sister was 4 at the time of this insisted. She was the only one not going to school at the time so she needed some one to play with. One day she had what we thought was a invisible friend like most kids do. Her friends name was Susie her and Susie would play every day but at lunch time Susie would have to go home. Now one day before lunch my sister came in the house crying because her and Susie had a fight and she was very upset my mom said it took her a long time to calm her down and get her to take a nap. She didn't play with Susie the rest of the day.
Now the next day my sister was playing with Susie again when she came in and asked my mother if she could go to Susie's house when my mom asked her where does she live her response was out there and she point to a grove of trees just beyond the garden. Of course my mom said no she watch my sister on what she would do next. My sister went outside went to a certain spot and talked to some one there. (Most childhood friends are beside you.) There was also what looked like an embrace and then she waved good bye to her friend.
She had this friend for a year we moved when she was 5 (My sister) on moving day she went and said good bye to her friend and told her she was aloud to come and visit her, what makes it weird is a few days after we had moved in to our new place her friend showed up to visit and tell my sister that she could not see her anymore. Now remeber only my sister could see her she saw her across the road in a field and wanted to go and talk to her. I belive my mom let her but watched her from the roadside.

MY FAVORITE COAT
Now for myself I had this favorite coat that I liked to wear in the fall/winter we where still in the old place at the time. I was outside playing with my sisters and our friends and of course I had to go to the bathroom. So I came in hung my coat on the kitchen door when I came out of the bathroom my coat was gone. I asked my folks if they saw my coat but they did not then I figured my mom threw it in the porch so I checked there it was not there either. I was very upset with my folks I though they were being mean ( adult funny) but they were very serious about my coat. They even helped me look for it we looked for over 6 months for my coat. Now me and my oldest sister slept in the basement one morning as I was coming up to go in the house I spotted my coat under the porch. This was an open porch so the kids could play under there in summer and keep cool. Best I could figure was some spirit wanted to stay warm for the winter. I was glad to get my coat back.

CAT OR RAT?
Me and my older sister like I mentioned slept in the basement every other night after we had turned out the lights and we were asleep I had this heavy thing on my chest what ever it was jumped from above my head and on to my chest like a cat would. This was starting to freak me out. I mentioned this to my folks and they figured one of the cats must have found out how to get in to the basement and just jumped on the bed after a while. I was not convinced of this so one night I decided to leave my hand on my lamp and as soon as what ever jumped on my chest I was going to flip on the light and find out if it was a rat I was getting a cat or trap. If it was a cat then I could sleep.
Right on Q the lights went out and 15 to 30 min later there was a pouch on my chest I hit that switch so fast to see what was there either way I should see it right? Wrong, there was nothing there. Ghost cat? This is what I'm thinking because after that it stopped so weird.
Now this place was haunted but not bad spirits which was good we lived here for well over 10 years. We even got our hands on a oujia ( sorry don't know how to spell it) to see if there were friendly or mean spirits in the house. Friendly was the answer. We named our ghost George. If anyone else in the family had any experience like the ones I have told no body mentioned because nobody wanted to look nuts. Now how can you look nuts either you are or your not. We moved from this house in the late 70's. We moved there in the late 60's

MY BEST UFO SIGHTING
My best UFO sighting came from this same place by the way. We lived close to the airport so things flying over head was very common. My dad had gone outside because he heard a weird noise to close to the house he started hollering at us to come outside a UFO was real low and close to the house. Tree top level. We ran out to see and sure enough bright white lights going over our house. Now we were all convinced we had seen a UFO as kids seeing is believing even as adults.
he next morning we were listening to the news to hear if anyone else had seen it and many people had reported seeing a UFO turns out some guy put a lot of lights on his airplane and flew low enough to make it look like a UFO. This fellow got a huge fine by the way. Best UFO I ever saw.
