The Search For What's Beyond
More about me.
My name is Dallas and I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in the summer of 1970. I grew up in Northern Edmonton with my parents and my older brother until I was five. That is when my mom and dad got a divorce. This is where my memory begins or as far back as I can remember.
Where did it all begin?
I guess it all started for me in 1977. My grandfather had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. We found out about it right away. The last thing that we were told was that my grandfather was in intensive care but stable.
In the morning my mom said, at breakfast, that her dad came into her room in the middle of the night and said his goodbyes. A few hours later, we got the call from the hospital that my grandfather had died in the middle of the night....
I think this is the first memory I have with the paranormal.
More experiences came with other paranormal events such as my friend Danny’s basement being haunted back when I was in grade 5 or 6. Danny explained that someone had painted a pentagram in a spare room next to the laundry room. Strange things began after the drywall went up. Pickle jars falling from the shelf and breaking on the floor, only to be back in one piece in the morning. The laundry room door opening by its self. A bunch of us got to see that happen one night when we were watching a movie in the living room downstairs. I was also witness to hearing someone walking up and down the stairs as well as in the kitchen up stairs when everyone was asleep.
One thing that really got me interested in the paranormal came to me in the form of clairvoyance. I had a vision that I was in my mom’s room with my brother. She had white carpet and my brother was tying my hands behind my back with a red phone cord. In my vision I fell forward onto my face.
This vision struck me as just a dream considering all the carpets in the house were an ugly orange (popular in the 70s). Many months later, mom decided to have all the carpets in the house replaced. She had a beautiful plush grey carpet installed, accept for her room. She insisted that her carpet be white. Ironically she also decided to remove the curly red phone cord and replace it with a straight cord that could reach the living room.
The next thing I know, my brother and I are I my mom’s room and he is tying my hands behind my back with a curly red phone cord. I was hovering over the white carpet. I felt myself start to sway forward and I that’s when the Déjà Vu hit. I started falling until I landed flat on the side of my face. I rolled over as blood started to stream down my face. I was laughing pretty hard. My brother’s face was showing both concern for getting blood on moms new carpet and confusing of why I was laughing. I quickly explained the vision and he asked me why I did not say anything before I fell. I said, “Hey, I had to see if it came true." Needless to say I had carpet rash on my face for a few weeks. Did not impress the girls at school.
Not too long after that I had a bad dream. I do not remember what is was because what I was about to see freaked the hell out of me. I must have been between five and six years old. Being scared I got out of bed and headed past my brothers room, and down the hallway to my mom's room. The only thing that I remember before waking up in my moms bed, was at the top of the hallway, both sides, were filled with demonic looking heads staring at me as I made my way down the hall. Most likely my imagination running wild I am sure. Perhaps it was something I heard in Catholic church. They seem to like to scare little children.
