(From Obituary) "Evelyn was the second child born to James and Elizabeth Page . She left school at an early age to assist her father in the telephone office and the post office. She married Clifford Owen in September 1919 and they lived in Bender, Sask in the early 1930's to 1940 when they returned to Kennedy to assist James Page in the Post Office. Resided in Kennedy until retirement when they moved to White Rock, BC.
On a visit to her daughter's in Brandon, Cliff and son-in-law Cy Rankmore were killed in an auto accident and from tht time on, Evelyn lived in Brandon with her daughter Phyllis. As a young woman she loved to skate, curl and play ladies hockey and was also interested in the theater and helped to stage many plays in the local community. She also was adept at crafts, knitting and crocheting. Evelyn belonged to Kennedy Rebekah Lodge for 72 years and was the only surviving charter member. A private graveside service was held Saturday, Feb. 14 at Rosewood Memorial Gardens."

James John PAGE was born about 1852 in England. He died about 1912 in Moosomin, Sask. (North Cem.). The Pages were Lady Burdett-Coutts Settlers and came from London, Eng. with 17 other families in 1883 to homestead in the Moosomin District. The land was poor and eventually most of them quit their claims.
The Page farm was NW 10-12-31 and was known by the Church of England as Page's Settlement. James and Ellen were the oldest married couple in the district and church services were held there. They stayed in the district longer than any of the other Lady Burdett-Coutts Settlers but probably moved because the London Colonization Aid Society had a lien against their land. They abandoned their claim in 1903. In 1905 James and Ellen owned the Queens Hotel in Moosomin.
