Kay Bonar Brooks) "Our mother (Annie McLeod) lived with Uncle John and Aunt Bella McIver. They were brother and sister and lived in Stornaway, Scotland, Isle of Lewis. They came to visit and asked mother's parents to let them take one of the girls to live with them. Mother being the middle girl (Bella and Christie older, Maggie and Mary younger) and they wanted Mother to be like a daughter to them. Mother stayed with the McIvers until our grandmother died and Grandpa McLeod decided to come to Canada with his son, Dan, and five daughters. They landed in Winnipeg, then out to Wapella. Aunt Christie and Mother stayed in Winnipeg -- worked as maids in wealthy homes, where Christie married Uncle John Robertson, a CNR man. Mother went to Wapella and on to Kelso where she did housekeeping for a Drennan lady and her brother Angus Drennen. (By the way, he wanted to marry Mother). She met the Greenbanks and Dad. She and Dad wre married and Molly and Belle were born in Kelso District. They moved to High View District on "The Sunny Lakes Farm" Parents: Donald MCLEOD and Daughter MCIVER.
