ROSE MANOR -this was my first dollhouse -on which I learned by trial and error. I had had no wood work experience so this was a challenge, especially as I had to finish the inside hallway and staircase before putting the third floor in place. There is a linen closet under the top staircase which cannot be seen. I cut and fit each piece individually for the parquet floor. The furniture was purchased or made from kits. I stitched the small carpets, my daughter did the large one in the sitting room, and my daughter-in-law made the large carpet in the den. I also did the dining chair seats on 40 count to the inch silk gauze. The beautiful porcelain dolls were made by my talented friend Jean Day. All the photos are of my ancestors.

Mr. and Mrs. Dawl live at Rose Manor along with their three children, Grandma, the nanny and housekeeper. Today Mrs. Dawl is entertaining her friend who left her baby sleeping outside in her pram, while the two small girls play dress-up in the storage room upstairs.

Mrs Dawl's new dress is ready to wear to an upcoming garden party.

The family are very pleased with their modern plumbing

Nanny is in the nursery attending the baby who is just waking up from her nap. Next door is the master bedroom.

There are lots of toys to keep the children happy in the playroom which is next to Nanny's room.

The housekeeper enjoys doing needlework in her room in her free time. The children are allowed through it to play in the storage room.

Mr. Dawl is in the den reading his paper while the young son is following the scent of freshly baked cookies to the kitchen. A musical family, Mrs Dawl plays the harp and Mr Dawl plays the cello.

Yum!! those cookies do smell good.

The young boys room is unusually tidy today. Grandma is sitting in her room doing some mending

The gardener has left his bicycle by the front gate. He does a very good job of keeping the garden tidy. I made all the flowers and veggies from fimo.

We have a very unique weather system in Rosetown, it is summer all year round except during the Christmas season, when it snows- but ONLY in the front of Rose Manor!

The ladies are enjoying a Christmas tea
