HERE ARE THE HOUSES THAT I MADE FOR MY GRANDCHILDREN

Ashley's - I built this house for Ashley's sixth birthday. Each house has a 'dollhouse' the same as the house for the miniature children to play with.

I like front opening houses so to put in french doors and a balcony I had to make the front in three sections

You can see the 'miniature dollhouse' in the playroom upstairs

I used plastic wine glasses painted with glass stain for the light shades

Elizabeth's - Elizabeth asked for a pink house

Similar to Ashleys but with the centre opening front House

I made all the furniture including the crib hoping it was strong enough to be played with.

With the roof open you can see the bathroom and playroom

Cams castle - The castle was fun to design and build - especially making the dungeon in a pull out drawer. It was the right scale for his playmobile people.

The draw bridge raises and lowers by pulling on the weights inside

The portcullis is on a pulley. I used bamboo skewers for the bars.

The castle is surrounded by a moat (resin) which contains some 'body parts' left uneaten by the alligators

Finished with exterior spackle I scored in the lines to resemble blocks. The same was done for the stone floor, then painted

The dungeon contains a guillotine, chains and other torture items that I made

Dusty's - this is a replica of her family 'weekend' home in the mountains - it was quite a challenge trying to make it (and the furnishings) exactly like the 'full size' home and still be sturdy enough for a six year old to play with.

The glass doors slide open onto the balcony

The washer and dryer in the bedroom closet can be hidden behind the folding mirror doors.

I was lucky to find miniature flooring and wallpaper similar to in the full size house

It looks like hotdogs for lunch! I made all the furniture including the brentwood rocker - this picture looks just like the real room, even the doggie on the sofa looks like their pet.

The ski rack is just inside the doorway. We can't see the hallway and stairs up
