Where are we?
Lantzville, British Columbia, is a semi-rural municipality immediately north of Nanaimo on central Vancouver Island. Bordered on three sides by tall trees, backing onto a ravine with a stream flowing past us year-round, we live in a country setting, only five minutes from a major city shopping centre. With no neighbours near enough to object to occasionally (?) barking dogs, our near-half-acre of fully fenced land provides plenty of exercise room for our canine family.
The temperate climate gives us summer temperatures seldom exceeding 25C (80F). Winter days range around 0 to 10C (32 to 50F) with occasional dips into frost. Rare snowfalls blanket the countryside but melt off within days. The winter months are wet and the summers dry. In the dry season we are able to set up a full practice agility course for the dogs in our front yard.

We live minutes from the sea, a two-hour ferry ride from the BC Mainland, and only a three-hour drive from the West Coast of the Island, where the scenic Pacific Rim National Park has been rated as one of the ten most romantic holiday getaway spots in the world.
We think we live in one of the best of all possible worlds!
