GOALS

Continue to provide Indian and Punjabi cultural awareness through performing arts and dance.

Continue to be proud of one’s Indian and Punjabi heritage.

Continue with the existing achievement to bring the Punjabi (men’s) dance of `Bhangra’ as an art form to the mainstream community.

Continue to learn and understand the cultures that we live amongst.

Continue to live respectfully and prosperously with other cultures.

Continue to build self-esteem and confidence by listening, valuing feedback and being pro-active with solutions.

Continue to provide positive and unique opportunities for our student (s).

Continue to learn to change obstacles into win-win situations as one door closes and another opens.

OBJECTIVES

Maintain a safe, positive, educational and fun environment of teaching.

Create dance routines and steps according to the level of the student (s).

Develop values in individuals and teams of respect, honesty, communication and trust.

To include self-development workshops with themes such as ‘respect’, ‘problem-solving’ or the
‘ power of positive thinking’.

Continue with mentorship programs for students to build long-term relationships with their
chosen mentor.

Continue with skits, dramas, musicals and singing. For example, the real life skits depicting issues in
school such as ‘bullying’, ‘communication’, and/or ‘fitting in’, led by Jaswinder Bamra in 1996.
Fun skits creatively innovated by one of our long-term students Aneeta Takhar. Musicals by
famous Indian actors, such as Amitabh Bachan or Harbhajan Mann. Reciting poetry written
either by the legendary Punjabi poet Amrita Pritam or local poets.

Be fair in recognizing achievements in leadership, attendance, talent, teaching and volunteering.
