This is the only time you will see 3 signal heads on the arm of a Style 3 assembly when there is a pole on only one side of the road. The panel below the left turn signal appropriately reads LEFT TURN SIGNAL. This is a fairly rare design; it is only used if it is undesirable to have the left turn signal on a pole in the median.
