Along 7 Ave S in the downtown core (between 4 St E and 10 St W) only Calgary Transit (bus and C-Train), emergency, and maintenance vehicles are permitted. All installations in that range look like this. The green+flashing yellow phase is like an extended yellow for C-Trains; if the train operator can stop safely, (s)he should do so, or risk not clearing the intersection by the time the light changes. Note the synchronization of the traffic and pedestrian signals. In 2003 the City of Calgary finally got the synchronization right so that a train rarely has to stop for a red light between stations.
