Who doesn't enjoy a good uproarious laugh? I know I do. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That's better Here are some sites that keep me entertained.

Garfield - September 27, 2000

Garfield.com
- Ever since I first learned to read, Garfield has been my favorite comic and, a bit later, cartoon character. I even have a teddy bear named Pooky! Garfield turned 25 years old in 2003; he looks good for his age, don't you think? At this website you can see every single Garfield comic strip since it began on June 19, 1978 (that might take you a while though...). You can also sign up to receive the daily strip in your e-mail.

NEW! Vampires - The Dark Alleyway - here, come into this dark alley with me... *bite!* You have been bitten by a vampire... me , and are now a vampire yourself. This is a rather addictive little game; you (and thousands of other vampires) are roaming around in a city, biting people to gain blood and money, and using them to earn various powers to make your vampire as powerful as it can be. Come and join the ranks of the undead!
There is a very informative site about this game on The Andronicus Pages (by Brent Elskän, controller of the vampire Andronicus); it includes such things as a map of the city, detailed descriptions of the various powers in the game, as well as a thorough tutorial for new players. If you are a vampire, this site is a must-see.

Oggy.com - a recent addition to my favorites list. Oggy and the Cockroaches is a cartoon produced in France, starring Oggy the cat, housemate Jack, and Marky, Joey, and Dee Dee, the 3 cockroaches who amuse themselves by giving Oggy and Jack a real hard time. Trust me, it's hilarious. If you love anvil-on-the-head type cartoon humor as much as I do then this is the cartoon for you.

The Darwin Awards - named after Charles Darwin, father of the modern theory of evolution. Based on the theory of "survival of the fittest", they are given to those individuals who do humanity the favor and service of removing themselves, and their stupidity, from the gene pool, in the most creative ways. What's really sad is that everything you read on this site is true. This site is an absolute must-see.

Evil Overlord, Inc. - this link was given to me by my partner in world domination. It's a list of guidelines that overlords should follow in order to help avoid an embarrassing defeat. Personally, I'm having problems abiding by rule #20... it's so easy to forget! Anybody planning to take over the world should look here... it's not like it will do you any good, though; you'll still be looking up to us.

Homestarrunner.com
- this is a huge joke of a site, evidenced by the picture above; you have to go see it It is run by Homestar Runner, in association with several other characters such as Strong Bad, Strong Mad, Strong Sad, and the Cheat. Yes it's silly. A personal favorite section of the site is Strong Bad's e-mail.

Royal Canadian Air Farce - this classic comedy quartet has been making Canadians laugh since 1993, portraying a wide variety of characters, from the Prime Minister, to the Pope, to the ever-popular Mike from Canmore. Take a look at how the Prophet on the Mount described the beginning of the Internet:

And lo it came to pass that the trader by the name of Abraham Com did take unto himself a young wife by the name of Dot. And Dot Com was a comely woman, broad of shoulder and long of leg. Indeed, she had been called Amazon Dot Com. And she said unto Abraham, her husband, "Why doth thou travel far, from town to town, with thy goods when thou can trade without ever leaving thy tent?"

And Abraham did look at her as though she were several saddle bags short of a camel load, but simply said, "How, Dear?" And Dot replied, "I will place drums in all the towns and drums in between to send messages saying what you have for sale and they will reply telling you which hath the best price. And the sale can be made on the drums and delivery by Uriah's Pony Stable (UPS)".

Abraham thought long and decided he would let Dot have her way with the drums, as long as he could have his way with her. And Dot said, "There will be a lot of banging in the land". And Abraham replied, "It is my most fervent wish that this be so".

And the drums rang out and were an immediate success. Abraham sold all the goods he had, at the top price, without ever moving from his tent. But his success did arouse envy. A man named Maccabia did secrete himself inside Abraham's drum and was accused of insider trading. And the young did take to Dot Com's trading as doth the greedy horsefly to camel dung. They were called Nomadic Ecclesiastical Rich Dominican Siderites, or NERDS for short.

And lo, the land was so feverish with joy at the new riches and the deafening sound of drums, that no one noticed that the real riches were going to the drum maker, one Brother William of Gates, who bought up every drum company in the land. And indeed did insist on making drums that would only work if you bought Brother Gates' drumsticks.

And Dot did say, "Oh, Abraham, what we have started is being taken over by others". And as Abraham looked out over the Bay of Ezekiel, or, as it came to be known, eBay, he said, "We need a name of a service that reflects what we are."

And Dot replied, "Young Ambitious Hebrew Owner Operators". "Whoopee!" said Abraham. "No, YAHOO!" said Dot Com.

Laughlab - this British site was launched in order to find the world's funniest joke. As a result Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson will make a better effort to tie down their tent the next time they go camping.

The Jargon Lexicon - this is one of the more useful sites on the web. It is more or less a dictionary where you can look up the meaning of all sorts of technical jargon, either to understand somebody else who is using it, or to impress others who won't know what the hell you're talking about.

Gamespotter.com - this site is one of the better ones I found for listing games on the web. Lots of games, arranged by category, and you can see whether or not you need to pay for the site and what plugins you need. If you are in need of wasting time, this is a great place to go.

The Simpsons
- d'oh! The most popular cartoon family since the Flintstones. It only took 11 seasons for the people at Fox to reveal which state the Simpsons are from.
