Note: Drammen was the last system to use a single pole with two shoes operation. It last for an amazing length of time. The wires were 12 inches apart. Because of this narrow width, special work was not feasible. There were three routes, arranged so that a given trolley would cover all three routes which converged in downtown Drammen. Obviously, all three routes had the same headway. The trolleys were towed into and out of the garage for service.
Somehow, part of this picture was cropped off. This photo
does show the single pole and double shoes and wire for the Drammen trolleybus
system. Photographer unknown and date unknown (probably the 50s or 60s).
