One  spelling unit per week - spelling tests on Fridays!
Make Spelling corrections in red on a continual basis!
Writing assignments are kept in students' writing journals [scribbler or duo-tang]
Students are also to read and do a book report every 2 weeks and these are kept in a separate scribbler or duotang

Children's Literature
Students are to write and illustrate their own children's story.  This can be in the form of a Word Document or a Web Page or a Power  Point.  The model story sample for length and format is based on Book Pals - Me and My Cat by Satoshi Kitamura

3.  Fingerprint Exercise - Students do a personal set of fingerprints for their notes and then submit an extra set of their own fingerprints [unsigned] for the class bulletin board - the class then attempts to match up the signed fingerprints to the unsigned.
