About the Quilter

I'm Debby.  I live in Vancouver, BC Canada.  I've always been a crafty person ... like most quilters I've done crochet, knitting, rug hooking, cross-stitch, some embroidery, then moved on to quilting in 1998. 

I do a lot of my work by hand, though sometimes I do machine piece.  All of my appliqué and quilting is done by hand. 

So far I've made well over 500 quilts of all sizes ... from baby quilts or wallhangings to king size, as well as tote bags, pillows and Christmas stockings.  I've taught classes and done in-store demonstrations on rag quilts, tote bags, wallhangings, and general quilting how-to.

I've run 2 successful quilt shows in a small community in Nova Scotia where I used to live and have sold quilts in local shops, as well as online.  I've entered some quilts in country fairs where I've won several 1st place ribbons.

I'm a self-taught quilter and I take great pride in my work, and I've been told I do a good job.  I am generally quilting anytime I'm sitting down, and I'm fairly quick, so I tend to get a lot done in a short period of time.

I always have a bunch of quilts in stock for people to browse through, but if I don't have what you want I can quickly have it custom made for your own taste in different sizes or colors of your choice.

The quilt below is my pride and joy, entitled "We Are All Canucks".  I am a huge fan of the Vancouver Canucks so I designed this quilt to hang in my sewing room.  I drafted the logos myself by hand, it is entirely hand appliquéd and hand quilted.   It is signed by the entire team.
