U.S. SPECIALIZED COLLECTIONS

This is the cover that got me started collecting the Transport Airmail Issue. It is a wartime cover to Brazil with censor markings and 30c Transport Airmail Stamp  Valid airmail rate was 40c per 1/2 oz. and the registration fee was 15c for a total of 55c, therefore the postage is correctly paid. Notation on the cover "Written in German applied by the sender in accordance with censorship regulations to assist the censors, who would then be able to arrange translation.

I am a long-time stamp and postal history collector with my primary specialization being United States Airmail issues on cover. I specialize in the following airmail and some sideline areas. I only collect these on cover and do not collect FDCs, Flight Covers or Event covers. I prefer all my material to be non-philatelic.

Lately I am hooked on philatelic exhibiting. I find this does a couple of things for me. It forces me to get organized and also provides knowledge through the research involved. Awards are nice but not the primary reason for exhibiting. Having said that it is always nice to be recognized for the effort involved.
