Zumba Fitness® is the only Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that
blends red-hot international music, created by Grammy Award-winning
producers, and contagious steps to form a "fitness-party" that is
downright addictive. Since its inception in 2001, Zumba Fitness has
grown to become the world’s largest – and most successful – dance-fitness
program with more than 10 million people of all shapes, sizes and ages
taking weekly Zumba classes in over 90,000 locations across more than 110
countries. The Zumba program is effective, exhilarating, and
easy-to-follow. It achieves the perfect balance of a progressive core
workout, full-body cardio and strength training, and a stress-relieving,
energy-producing fitness experience. Wear workout clothes and bring
a water bottle!
SALSA SUELTA:
Salsa Suelta means "loose salsa" - salsa danced without
a partner. Similar to rueda de casino, salsa suelta is initiated when
people want to party and dance together as a larger group. But instead of
dancing in a circle as in rueda, salsa suelta is danced in lines. It is
like a step routine combined with imaginative gestures and moves that have
evolved from a variety of Cuban dance traditions including rumba, orishas,
son, cha cha cha, mambo, casino, and the modern influences of timba and
hip hop. Salsa suelta is an easy-going dance style that can be learned as
you go, and because there is no partner involved, it can be danced
anywhere, in almost any situation. It will greatly improve your timing,
skills, creativity and footwork when on the dance floor!
SALSA LEVEL 2
No partner required. Pre-requisites: Absolute Beginner or other.
This class begins with a review of the basic salsa step and patterns from
Absolute Beginner class. From there you will learn a minimum of 5 patterns
combining Cuban, LA and NY Salsa moves, footwork, patterns and turns!
After you have successfully completed this class, you can move on to
Intermediate Salsa Patterns or Rueda de Casino! Students can wear whatever
they are comfortable dancing in - street clothes are acceptable. Bring
clean, non-scuffing indoor shoes and a water bottle.
INTERMEDIATE SALSA PATTERNS
Pre-req – Salsa or Rueda class
Challenge your skills in our intermediate class! Great for all salsa
dancers, regardless of what style you are accustomed to. This class
focuses on intermediate Partner patterns and salsa footwork. The class
begins with a warm-up, followed by footwork and/or shines and then a
pattern or two. In every class students will learn a new pattern as well
as review patterns from previous classes. Students can wear whatever they
are comfortable dancing in (street clothes are acceptable). Bring clean,
non-scuffing indoor shoes and a water bottle.
BACHATA
Beginner Level, Previous Latin dance experience an asset but not
required
Bachata, like Merengue, originates from the Dominican Republic. Bachata
dance consists of certain simple steps that create a back and forth as
well as a sideway motion. Bachata can be distinguished by the romantic
music and sensuous body movements. This class incorporates steps,
patterns, timing, movement on the dance floor, attitude, turns and
choreography. Women taking the class are encouraged to wear heels/ballroom
dance shoes and men to wear dress shoes but this is not required. Be sure
to bring a water bottle!
INTERMEDIATE BACHATA
Intermediate Level. Pre-req – 5-10 Bachata Classes
Take your bachata dancing to the next level in this course. You will learn
challenging turn patterns that will be sure to impress anyone on the dance
floor. You will build on your fundamental skills, increase the complexity
of your movements and add many elements of style to your dancing. For
footwear, ladies can wear heels and men can wear dress shoes or dance
shoes. Bring a water bottle!
ABSOLUTE BEGINNER SALSA
No partner required. No experience necessary.
Absolute Beginner is a foundational class for Cuban Salsa. You will learn
the basic salsa step combined with Cuban technique. From there you will
learn individual dance steps, partner moves and combinations. You will
learn a minimum of 4 combos throughout the course. The goal
of this class is to give students a taste of salsa, to help them learn
Cuban technique, and to prepare them for upper level classes. After you
have completed this course, you can move on to Salsa Level 2! Students can
wear whatever they are comfortable dancing in - street clothes are
acceptable. Bring clean, non-scuffing indoor shoes and a water bottle.

A fun and exciting Cuban dance that will have you hooked from the first
try! Rueda de Casino began in Cuba in the mid 20th century. People used to

is Spanish for “Wheel”.) Rueda de Casino is danced in a circle, a caller
shouts out different combos and partners switch frequently! In this class
you will learn several patterns common in Casino such as Enchufla, Setenta,
Prima Con Hermana, Adios and more! Students can wear whatever they are
comfortable dancing in (street clothes are acceptable). Bring clean,
non-scuffing indoor shoes and a water bottle.
