ICAN (International Cesarean Network) Saskatchewan Chapter -an advocacy and support group striving to improve women's and children's health through education to prevent unnecessary cesarean sections, providing support for cesarean recovery and promoting vaginal birth after cesarean. Come out and meet other women who believe in this mission or to just chat about your birth experiences in a supportive environment. Refreshments will be provided, but please feel free to bring a nut-free snack to share. Nursing babies are welcome. Caregiver Organization Provides resources and support for caregivers who are looking after children, spouses, parents or relatives and friends.  We realize that it is at times difficult for caregivers to get out and have time for themselves, so we came up with the Caregiver Club. It is held on the first Wednesday of every month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Community Service Village.  This is a time for people to share ideas, socialize and have a little time out for themselves.  Please click the link for more information.

Autism Support and Services For information on autism and organizations that can help families with the every day challenges of having an autistic child. Links to other sites such as speech pathologists, occupational therapists and treatment organizations can also be found through this site.


Adlerian Society
Offers a wide variety of parenting classes and support for new and experienced parents.  Free childcare provided on a first come first serve basis for more programs.

SPOTTO (Saskatoon Parents of Twins and Triplets Organization
Do you have, or are expecting multiples?  This organization can provide you with information, support and fellowship through access to others who have also had multiple births.


HEALTHLINE
1-877-800-0002 - This is a free service in which you can call a nurse directly if you have any medical concerns.  The nurse will ask you a series of questions then give you a recommendation.  The nurse can advise you on how to treat the problem yourself, to see your family physician, or if a visit to the emergency room is necessary.  If you have a medical emergency, call 9-1-1 as Healthline does not deal with emergency situations.

GIFT: Grandparents Involved Full Time - Non-profit organization of grandparents helping each other to cope when grandparents begin raising children.  Meets twice a month.   For more information such as location and meeting times call: 382-3650 or e-mail Dorothy Breast Feeding Drop-In Centres
The main "Breastfeeding Centre" is located in the Westwinds Primary Health Centre at 3311 Fairlight Drive. It is staffed by certified Lactation Consultants. For appointments or telephone inquiries phone (306) 655-4806.
* Centre at Circle and 8th,  Tuesdays 1-4 p.m.  Moves frequently to vacant spots within the mall so check at the info kiosk if you can't find the Breastfeeding Centre.
* Confederation Park Mall Drop in Centre- Wednesdays 1 to 4 p.m.  Location moves often.  Ask at info kiosk near food court.
* Sears - Midtown Plaza Drop in Centre, baby section - This is a non-staffed nursing room now, but is still open to mothers who need to nurse.

Saskatchewan Doula Network Information for women who may wish to use the services of a doula and resources for active doulas.

Childbirth Classes - Saskatoon Health Region.   Please call for times and dates.  These classes run frequently throughout the year.  I can't remember if there is a cost.  If there is, it was minimal.  Possibly $30.00 per couple, which includes the text book.   Phone: 655-4774
