SASA is a non profit organization and one of eight charters incorporated under the Canadian Shuffleboard Congress.
SASA's boundaries extend from the U.S. border (south) to Red Deer (north) and the Alberta borders (east and west).
A "playdown" tournament is held each year (normally in the Spring) to determine who qualifies to represent our charter at the Canadian Shuffleboard Championship event held every October. There are 5 categories of competition. Ladies Singles, Men's Singles, Ladies Doubles, Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Each charter hosts the Canadian Shuffleboard Championship event on a rotational schedule. Our charter hosted a successful Canadian Shuffleboard Championships in 2010 and is scheduled to host the event again in 2018. Anyone within the above mentioned boundaries is eligible to play in the "playdowns". The cost is $25.00 per event for Calgary City League members (details on membership). Non-members are required to pay a $25.00 SASA membership fee and then $35.00 per event. If you have a league within the boundaries and are interested in joining SASA or require further information please contact: Vernon Maguire - President or Jamie McCrimmon - Vice-President |
